Senior Funding Manager (Part-time) – Federal Grants & Funding Strategy (DE / EU)

SOFTGAMES is seeking an experienced Funding Manager to proactively research, evaluate, and apply for relevant German and European funding programs, including games, technology, AI, and innovation grants. The role involves managing the entire funding process from identification to successful completion, including project and budget planning, communication with authorities, and developing internal funding strategies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in funding management and excellent German writing skills, and must have the right to work in Germany and live in the Berlin area.

Must Have

• Proactive research and evaluation of relevant German and European funding programs
• Analysis and investment planning to assess funding potentials and subsidy rates
• Conception, formulation, and application for funding applications
• Project and budget planning for funded projects
• Communication with funding bodies and authorities
• Funding administration: documentation, self-performance evaluation, fund calls, proofs, reporting
• Further development of internal funding processes
• Several years of experience in funding management (Games, IT, Research, Innovation)
• Business understanding and/or a relevant degree
• Proficient handling of funding guidelines, administrative requirements, cost & performance records
• Excellent written German language skills (C2) for drafting funding applications
• Structured, independent way of working and ability to manage multiple projects in parallel
• Right to work in Germany and live in the Berlin Area

For this, we are immediately looking for experienced support in funding management to professionally guide us in building and expanding our funding strategy.

Your Role…

In this role, you will be independently responsible for the entire funding process – from identification to successful completion:

• Proactive research & evaluation of relevant German and European funding programs

→ incl. Games funding, innovation and technology funding, research allowance (FuZu), AI research programs etc.

• Analysis & investment planning to assess funding potentials and subsidy rates
• Conception, formulation & application for funding applications

→ incl. Narrative, project description, budget, timeline

• Project and budget planning for funded projects
• Communication with funding bodies & authorities as well as close collaboration with Product, Tech, Finance & Management
• Funding administration: Documentation, self-performance evaluation, fund calls, proofs, reporting
• Further development of our internal funding processes

→ Establishment of a scalable funding management framework

Your Profile…

We are explicitly looking for someone with demonstrable experience and a track record:

• Several years of experience in funding management (Games, IT, Research, Innovation or similar)

→ ideally demonstrable success in applying for or settling larger funding projects

• Business understanding and/or a relevant degree
• Proficient handling of funding guidelines, administrative requirements, cost & performance records
• Excellent written German language skills (C2) especially for drafting convincing funding applications
• Enthusiasm for Games, Technology & Innovation
• Structured, independent way of working and ability to manage multiple projects in parallel
• Residence in the greater Berlin area (home office possible)
