Job Summary
Red Barrels is seeking a Senior Gameplay Animator to develop and create high-quality animations for gameplay characters and scripted events. The role involves collaborating with programmers and game designers, creating gameplay systems using Anim Graphs and Blueprints, and troubleshooting animation issues. Responsibilities include animating first and third-person locomotion, combat, player interactions, AI, and scripted events, while also contributing to animation pipeline improvements and documentation.
Must Have
- Develop and create high-quality animations for gameplay characters and scripted events.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate animations into complex systems.
- Help create gameplay systems like Anim Graphs and Blueprints.
- Troubleshoot and prioritize gameplay animation issues independently.
- Create first and third-person locomotion, combat, player interaction, AI, and scripted event animations.
- Manage daily tasks using Jira.
- Create and maintain animation process documentation.
- Help establish new techniques for animation pipeline improvement.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in AA or AAA game production as a Gameplay Animator.
- Experience with Unreal Engine, Blueprints, and Anim Graphs.
- Ability to communicate in both French and English.

MAIN MISSION
Red Barrels is looking for a talented Gameplay Animator who brings a high level of creativity and innovation to their work. We are looking for someone who is interested in doing things differently and thrives in a cross studio collaborative environment.
TASKS
- Develop and create high-quality animations for gameplay characters and scripted events, aligning creative direction and technical needs at every stage.
- Collaborate with other departments like Programmers and Game Designers to integrate your animations into complex systems.
- Help create gameplay systems such as Anim Graphs and Blueprints for animation integration.
- Troubleshoot and prioritize issues independently to resolve blockers.
- Gameplay involves First and Third Person traversal, combat, Player interactions, AI and Scripted events.
- Provide support and work with other animation team members through organized workflows, strong communication and constructive feedback.
- Communicate effectively with other disciplines such as Character teams, Writers, Designers, Rigging, Sound and Producers.
- Manage your daily tasks through Jira, while keeping your Lead/Director up to date.
- Create and maintain documentation of animation processes and metrics to help with knowledge sharing within the team.
- Help establish new techniques to improve our animation pipeline.
- Participate in weekly play sessions.
Profile Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in AA or AAA game production as a Gameplay Animator.
- Strong emphasis on independence within a team.
- Experience with Unreal Engine, specifically Blueprints and Anim Graphs.
- Must be able to communicate in both French and English
