Job Summary

Seeking a Senior Level Designer to create and implement levels for a new title. Responsibilities include designing gameplay, collaborating with teams, mentoring juniors, and ensuring high-quality execution in level design.

Must Have

  • Design, prototype, and implement engaging levels and encounters that align with the game’s core vision
  • Balance gameplay flow, pacing, difficulty, and player guidance through level layout and worldbuilding
  • Collaborate with art, narrative, systems, and engineering to create cohesive, immersive experiences
  • Take levels from concept to final polish, ensuring high-quality execution across gameplay, aesthetics, and performance
  • Build whitebox/greybox layouts and iterate based on feedback, playtesting, and analytics
  • Document design intentions, pipelines, and feedback for clarity across the team
  • Mentor junior level designers, providing constructive critique and guidance
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices in level design and bring fresh ideas to the team
  • 5+ years of professional experience in level design, with at least one shipped PC or console title
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a mastery of level design fundamentals (flow, pacing, combat setup, navigation, and world readability)
  • Proficiency with Unreal Engine (preferred) or similar 3D game engines
  • Skilled in creating blockouts/greyboxes and iterating based on playtest results
  • Understanding of narrative and visual storytelling in level design
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-disciplinary teams
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

The Role

Seeking a Senior Level Designer to create and implement levels for a new title. Responsibilities include designing gameplay, collaborating with teams, mentoring juniors, and ensuring high-quality execution in level design.

We are looking for a Senior Level Designer to help shape the worlds and gameplay experiences of our upcoming title. You’ll be responsible for crafting memorable spaces that challenge, guide, and delight players, while collaborating with cross-discipline partners to bring those environments to life. As a senior, you’ll also mentor other designers and help define Anchor Point’s best practices in level design.

What You'll Do
