Job Summary
Yahoo Taipei is looking for a Senior iOS App Engineer to join a team working on high-impact consumer-facing apps for millions of users in Taiwan and Hong Kong. The role involves collaborating with product managers and designers to deliver features, participating in technical and UX discussions, and designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining scalable iOS codebases. The ideal candidate is curious, takes ownership, and enjoys solving problems collaboratively.
Must Have
- Work with product managers and designers to deliver features with good user experience and performance
- Participate in discussions and proactively contribute technical and UX insights
- Design, implement, test, and maintain scalable iOS codebases across Yahoo TW/HK consumer apps and sdks
- Collaborate with Android engineers to ensure feature behavior consistency and cross-platform quality
- Participate in code reviews and continuously improve codebase maintainability
- Propose and drive improvements in app architecture, tooling, or release processes as needed
- 3-5 years of experience in iOS app development with Swift and UIKit/SwiftUI
- Solid understanding of Objective-C; able to read and modify Objective-C code
- Familiarity with common architectural patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture, Coordinator)
- Able to read and navigate large codebases and work with legacy components
- Experience working with APIs, networking, async data flow, and app performance tuning
- Able to take initiative and seek clarity when requirements are ambiguous
- Good communication skills and team collaboration habits
- Comfortable working with Git, CI/CD workflows, and release processes
- Requires business-level proficiency in English

- Experience contributing to refactoring or architectural improvements in a production codebase
- Familiarity with writing unit/UI/integration tests
- Experience working in cross-functional teams with product, design, and other platforms

Minimum Qualifications
- BS or MS in Computer Science or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in iOS app development with Swift and UIKit/SwiftUI.
- Solid understanding of Objective-C; able to read and modify Objective-C code in mixed codebases.
- Familiarity with common architectural patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture, Coordinator, etc.).
- Able to read and navigate large codebases and work with legacy components.
