Android Engineer

Plan A Technologies is seeking an experienced Android Engineer to enhance and modernize its mobile platform. This role involves expanding Android development, improving maintainability, and exploring cross-platform strategies. The engineer will collaborate with iOS, backend, and platform teams to build high-quality mobile experiences and contribute to architectural and tooling decisions. At least 5+ years of Android development experience is required.

Must Have

• Design, build, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin
• Collaborate with iOS and backend teams to deliver consistent, high-quality mobile experiences
• Participate in architecture discussions related to cross-platform development (e.g., shared business logic)
• Improve build reliability, performance, and scalability in collaboration with platform teams
• Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, and best practices
• Experiment with and adopt AI tools to support development, testing, and debugging workflows
• 6+ years of professional mobile development experience
• 5+ years of hands-on Android development experience
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Android SDKs
• Experience building and maintaining large-scale Android applications
• Familiarity with modern Android architectures (MVVM, Clean Architecture, etc.)
• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform or other cross-platform frameworks
• Familiarity with advanced build systems such as Bazel
• Experience improving or scaling CI/CD pipelines for mobile development
• Exposure to AI-assisted engineering tools (e.g., coding assistants, automated testing tools)
• Experience working in organizations undergoing rapid team growth
• Experience working in cross-functional, product-driven teams
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

This role will play a key part in expanding Android development capacity, improving long-term maintainability, and exploring cross-platform strategies to accelerate delivery across mobile platforms.

You will work closely with iOS, backend, and platform teams to build high-quality mobile experiences while contributing to architectural and tooling decisions.

Please note: you must have at least 5+ years of experience of Android development to be considered for this role.
