Payroll Specialist

Yahoo is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll processing for a section of its employee population. This role involves performing audits for data accuracy, promptly answering employee questions via ServiceNow, maintaining organized records, creating ad-hoc reports, and calculating manual payroll checks. The position requires strong knowledge of payroll regulations and experience with WorkDay and ADP SmartCompliance, along with excellent communication and customer service skills.

Must Have

• End to end payroll processing (hire, termination, leaves, HR data changes, etc)
• Perform audits prior and post payroll transmission to ensure accuracy of payroll data
• Answer employee’s questions promptly via our ServiceNow ticket queue
• Maintain organized records and documentation; responsible for providing documentation and answering inquiries during compliance reviews and other audits
• Create Ad-hoc reports and be able to analyze the data
• Calculate manual payroll checks for terminating employees to include all necessary earnings, taxes, and deductions
• 3+ years of payroll experience
• Strong working knowledge of FLSA and California Labor Code
• Strong working knowledge of flexible spending plans, garnishments, and 401(k) plans
• Experience using WorkDay and ADP SmartCompliance
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and be able to meet deadlines
• Attention to detail

The compensation for this position ranges from $56,250.00 - $117,500.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
