Senior/Lead QA Automation Engineer

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join a project migrating a legacy system from mainframe to a cloud-based Java environment for a major US bank. You will work closely with the QA Lead and another QA, developing and implementing test strategies. Responsibilities include executing functional, non-functional, integration, and data migration testing. You will also drive innovation in testing processes and tools. The role requires mandatory on-site work at the DXC office five days a week. Primary technology stack includes strong Java expertise, with AWS experience preferred, and SQL/Python as nice-to-haves.

Must Have

• 8+ years as QA Engineer with automation focus

Project description

We have an ambitious goal to migrate a legacy system written in HLASM (High-Level Assembler) from the mainframe to a cloud-based Java environment for one of the largest banks in the USA.

We are seeking a highly skilled and independent Senior QA Engineer to work closely with the QA Lead and another QA. The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing test strategies, as well as executing a comprehensive range of testing activities (Functional, Non-Functional, Integration, Data Migration).

Primary Technology Stack:
Mandatory: Java (strong expertise)
Preferred: AWS experience
Nice to have: SQL, Python

Skills

Must have

Experience:

8+ years as a QA Engineer with a focus on automation

Proven track record of creating QA automation frameworks from scratch

Technical Skills:

Advanced proficiency in Java

Strong understanding of test approaches and methodologies

Hands-on experience with SOAP/REST API testing

Familiarity with both manual and automated software testing methodologies and tools

Familiarity with batch processing

Soft Skills:

Ability to collaborate effectively across teams

Adaptability and eagerness to learn new technologies and tools
