Job Summary

The Senior Manager for Academic and Student Affairs at Nazarbayev University's Graduate School of Education is responsible for operational support, including faculty arrival, student recruitment, and seminar organization. The role involves assisting in academic program development, advising staff and faculty, coordinating with the Registrar's Office, managing student evaluations, supporting alumni activities, and monitoring student performance. This position also includes significant interaction with the Admissions Department for student recruitment and managing the School's Admission Committee.

Job Description

Senior Manager is imposed with the following functions:

1) the organization of the operational support for the activities of the School, including the organization of the arrival of faculty, the recruitment of students, the organization of the seminars for faculty and students of the School, as well as other activities related to the academic activities of the School;

2) assisting Director for Academic and Student Affairs and Vice Dean on the development and evaluation of academic programs and/or courses at School;

3) advising new School employees and faculty on academic and student activities;

4) participation and cooperation with the Office of the Registrar on the development of academic calendars and allocation of work load of School faculty members;

5) provision of student course evaluation at the end of each semester, and storage of evaluation results;

6) assisting help at coordinating School media channels on academic questions;

7) work with graduates, support of School alumni association activities;

8) consultation work and support of School students;

9) participation and cooperation with Admissions Department in the new students recruitment, and their admissions;

10) monitoring of the students’ academic performance, attendance and academic counseling;

11) provision of the statistical reports on students, programs / courses within the jurisdiction, analysis of the results;

12) preparation of reports, analytical materials and letters within its professional competence framework;

13) interaction with the Admissions Department for the recruitment and admission of students to the Institution, including the provision of consultations on the academic programs, the procedure for admission and deadlines for the submission of documents, participation in recruiting campaigns, preparation of handouts;

14) coordination of the work of the Admission Committee of the School - organizing meetings, maintaining minutes, collecting and processing evaluation forms of the candidates, preparing letters of invitation for admission and letters of rejection.

15) participation in identification, evaluation, management and monitoring of risks within the framework of supervised direction;

16) timely and proper fulfillment of other orders of the Dean, Vice Dean, Head and University’s management within the framework of his/her responsibilities and functions.

Qualifications

Education

Higher-professional, preferable from the higher education institutions with English language of instruction;

Master's degree is preferred.

Priority specializations:

Work experience

  • For a master’s degree, at least 3 year of work experience in areas corresponding to the functional areas of a particular position;
  • With a bachelor’s or specialist’s degree, work experience in the specialty is at least 5 years in the areas corresponding to the functional areas of a particular position in international and/or national companies.
