Job Summary
Wind River is seeking a Senior Member of Technical Staff to deliver technical requirements for major networking and telecom operators. This role involves leveraging Wind River's Cloud Platform to deploy geographically distributed, high-performance, production-grade Kubernetes-based solutions for managing edge cloud infrastructure. Responsibilities include providing technical guidance, preparing project descriptions, setting schedules, estimating engineering hours, identifying project risks, and delivering on successful bids. The candidate will work directly with customers, resolve issues, and develop solutions using the company's products and services. A strong focus on Telecom and data networking experience is essential.
Must Have
- Experience in software engineering with a focus on Telecom and data networking.
- Hands-on experience in deploying Cloud Platform.
- Extend product features, work with hardware, and test code.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
- 4 years of relevant technical work experience.
- Ability to work legally in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Expertise in Kubernetes, Docker, Elastic, Kafka, & cloud-native technologies.
- Strong knowledge of Compute Cluster concepts.
- Working knowledge of network stacks, switching, routing.
- Experience in network system-level solution design.
- Adept at Python and automation languages like Ansible.
- Ability to work independently and on a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to replicate customer issues in a lab.
- Ability to think laterally.
Good to Have
- Experience in open-source projects like Ansible, Python, OpenStack, StarlingX, Git, and Markdown.
- Cloud-based certification (AWS/Azure/GCP), or Kubernetes certs (CKA/CKSS/CKAD).
- Ability to travel for 1 week/month to customer site.
- Storage configuration expertise (RAID/Ceph/NFSv3+v4, NetApp a plus).
- Understanding of how to integrate into Assurance systems.
- Comfort with building, reconfiguring, and provisioning lab equipment.
- BMC configurations (iDRAC/ILO/IPM/Redfish).
- Exposure to SDN concepts, Network Function Virtualization (NFV), and ETSI-MANO.
- Linux (Debian, Ubuntu) background.
- Verbal communication skills via articulation of past project details.

- Provide technical guidance and delivery of projects based on Wind River’s Cloud Platform to Communication Service Provider (CSP) customers.
- Work with Professional Services Project Managers to prepare project descriptions, identify task lists, set schedules, determine engineering hours, estimate project risk and deliver on successful bids.
- This is a direct customer-ofacing position and requires comfort with customers and issue resolution.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent technical education
- Cloud based certification (AWS/Azure/GCP), or Kubernetes certs - CKA/CKSS/CKAD

- Be comfortable with building, reconfiguring and provisioning lab equipment such as servers physical and virtual routers and networks (including IPv4/6) in both Wind River and customers’ lab environments. BMC configurations (iDRAC/ILO/IPM/Redfish).
- Experience in network system-level solution design.
- Exposure to SDN concepts, Network Function Virtualization (NFV), and ETSI-MANO. Linux (Debian, Ubuntu) background covering deployment, image build, application, and administration.
- Adept at Python and automation languages like Ansible.
- The ability to work on a team & independently on multiple high priority projects.
- Verbal communications via articulation of past project details desired outcomes and written communication skills.
- Strong Problem-solving skills based upon a myriad of differing scenarios (Network/performance/hardware)
- Ability to replicate customer issues in a Wind River lab
- Ability to think laterally.
