Senior Motion Designer

As a Senior Motion Designer at Tekion, you will lead motion design projects from visualization to execution, creating engaging motion graphics that communicate the value of our automotive platform to dealerships and OEMs. You will collaborate with marketing, design, and product teams, manage timelines, and ensure high-quality delivery of compelling visuals that align with our brand's message. This role requires a proactive approach and a strong understanding of animation principles and visual storytelling.

Must Have

• Lead motion design projects from initial concept to final handoff.
• Develop motion design concepts for dealership management system features.
• Create storyboards, style frames, and motion tests.
• Animate graphics, typography, and visual elements for automotive audiences.
• Collaborate with marketing, product, and creative teams.
• Manage project timelines and provide creative direction.
• Stay updated on motion design trends and software.
• Mentor junior designers.
• 5+ years of experience in motion design.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop).
• Proficiency in Cinema 4D, Blender, or similar 3D tools.
• Strong understanding of animation principles, visual storytelling, and typography.
• A portfolio showcasing diverse motion design work.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong project management skills.

Good to Have

• Knowledge of visual effects and compositing.
• Familiarity with real-time engines like Unreal or Unity.
• Understanding of audio design and its integration with motion graphics.

Job Description

As a Senior Motion Designer, you will take ownership of projects, leading the creative process from visualization to execution and handoff. You'll be responsible for producing engaging motion graphics that communicate our platform's value to dealerships and OEMs. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach to managing projects, ensuring a seamless flow from concept development to final delivery. You’ll collaborate closely with marketing, design, and product teams to craft compelling visuals that support our brand’s message

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of motion design projects, managing them from initial concept and visualization through to execution and final handoff.
• Develop motion design concepts that effectively communicate the features and benefits of our dealership management system.
• Create storyboards, style frames, and motion tests to visualize design ideas and bring them to life.
• Animate graphics, typography, and visual elements in ways that appeal to automotive industry audiences, including dealerships and OEMs.
• Collaborate with marketing, product, and creative teams to ensure that visual content aligns with overall messaging and campaign goals.
• Lead motion design projects, managing timelines, providing creative direction, and addressing any challenges to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
• Stay updated on the latest trends in motion design, software, to push the creative boundaries and keep content relevant.
• Mentor junior designers, offering guidance and feedback to elevate the team’s overall capabilities.

Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of experience in motion design
• Proven ability to take ownership of projects, from concept to completion, and deliver quality work within deadlines.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop) and other relevant software like Cinema 4D, Blender, or similar 3D tools.
• Strong understanding of animation principles, visual storytelling, and typography.
• A portfolio showcasing diverse motion design work, including 2D/3D animation, kinetic typography, and multimedia projects.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of visual effects and compositing.
• Familiarity with real-time engines like Unreal or Unity.
• Understanding of audio design and its integration with motion graphics.
