Job Description:

Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for a Senior Multiplayer Gameplay Programmer to join the development of a new IP.   
 
Feed your creativity while collaborating with our team of highly skilled developers to build something innovative, exhilarating, and expansively entertaining! 
 
As a member of the project, you’ll help take the studio and our game from great to even better—with a focus on inclusivity, mutual respect (for ourselves and our players), thoughtfulness, empathy, professionalism, and collaboration.  

 
You’ll help us by 

  • Designing and implementing gameplay features that are multiplayer compatible, considering latency issues and bandwidth consumption. 

  • Evangelizing the team about multiplayer limitations, requirements and recommending potential solutions/workarounds to their problems. 

  • Anticipating, identifying, and addressing potentials both for improving our game experience, workflows, or scalability across all parts of production. 

  • Having a clear idea of how our product should function and the ability to share this vision with your peers and other stakeholders.  

  • Collaborating with fellow team members of the team. 

You’re awesome because you have 

  • 4+ years of professional game engineering experience. 

  • A deep understanding of latency, bandwidth and the general multiplayer game programming domain. 

  • Strong knowledge of C/C++ programming. 

  • Strong 3D math background. 

  • Thorough understanding of common data structures and algorithmic solutions.  

  • The ability to collaborate and thrive as part of a creative team. 

  • Creativity in problem solving and a positive, respectful team-first attitude. 

  • Organization methods and the capability to meet deadlines. 

  • Comfort with self-critique and accepting outside feedback. 

  • A habit of regularly playing and understanding modern video games. 

Bonus points for 

  • Understanding animations and 3C problems in the multiplayer game.
