Senior Producer - Games

Netflix is looking for a Senior Producer to join their Production team at Next Games in Helsinki, Finland. This role involves leading an exciting new game project, coaching the team, and ensuring efficient development cycles. The producer will be responsible for planning timelines, managing the product backlog, facilitating agile events, and removing impediments. Candidates should have a strong understanding of games as products, live-ops, and experience in shipping multiple games using Agile methodologies.

Must Have

• Proven track record producing and shipping multiple games with modern Agile methodologies.
• Experience with mobile games’ live operations and shipping updates.
• Strong leadership experience in game teams.
• Strong experience managing team dynamics within a game team.
• Extensive experience in iterative development.
• Ability to set up and configure team production tools and dashboards.
• Deep knowledge of Atlassian Jira and Confluence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Finding effective ways of working and organizing game production.

• Articulating and communicating product backlog to all stakeholders.

We're looking for a Senior Producer to join our Production team and be the driving force behind one of our exciting new game projects.

You are an experienced leader with natural people skills and an active approach to resolving team- and personal challenges. You coach your team, enabling them to enhance their skills and adopt efficient practices and ways of working.

You have a solid understanding of games as products, which enables you to ask the right questions from designers, product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders, both internal and external, as well as a clear understanding of Live-Ops and running live games.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day, week-to-week, and sprint-to-sprint development cycles of the game, organizing the development of the feature teams, with a clear understanding of the importance of velocity.

Responsibilities:

With the Lead Producer

• Finding effective ways of working and organizing the production of the game
• Planning the project’s timeline and scope, identifying risks, and drafting mitigation plans for them well in advance
• Articulating and communicating the product  backlog to all stakeholders
• Organizing the day to day development work of feature teams
• Defining, updating, and enforcing Definition of Done and Definition of Ready for team deliverables

With the game team

• Coach the team to be self-organized and cross-functional, and help clarify roles within the team
• Create, own, and facilitate agile events (Daily, Review, Retro and Planning)
• Remove impediments on feature team and game team levels
• Coach the team on agile methods, and make sure everybody understands why they are being used
• Mediate conflicts and nurture team dynamics

Your Experience and Skills Include

• Proven track record of producing and shipping multiple games with modern Agile methodologies
• Experience with mobile games’ live operations and shipping updates
• Strong leadership experience
• Strong experience in managing team dynamics within a game team
• Extensive experience in iterative development
• Ability to set up and configure the team’s production tools and dashboards
• Deep knowledge of Atlassian Jira and Confluence
• A Passion for games and understanding of the games industry
• Ability to adjust to the given production framework and tools
• Disciplined and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
• Experience in working with senior levels of management
• Experience in working with external teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
