The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for designing and implementing franchise strategies for licensed product lines, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and aligning business plans and marketing executions to deliver high-quality video games and post-launch content. This role involves driving IP franchise strategies, partnering with product and project leads, working with marketing and sales teams, and being accountable to company leadership for delivering franchise strategy aligned to business objectives. The candidate will need to assess and problem-solve escalated project concerns, work with IP holders, and be a public evangelist for the product and franchise. The ideal candidate should have experience in game development and/or product management, a strong business acumen, and a passion for high-quality video games.
Must have:
  • Drive IP franchise strategies including business case and development.
  • Partner with product team to implement long-term franchise strategy.
  • Work closely with marketing and sales teams to maximize market impact.
  • Assess and problem-solve escalated project concerns.
  • Work closely with IP holders for greenlight and pre-production.

Over the last 25 years, Aspyr has helped nearly 200 games reach their next level across all platforms and beyond expectations.  Founded in 1996, Aspyr Media, Inc. got its start in Austin, TX by bringing the biggest PC gaming franchises such as Call of Duty, Sid Meier’s Civilization and Star Wars to Mac.  Today, Aspyr is a video game publishing and development partner focused on maximizing the potential of games.  We find the world's best games and connect them to new audiences, on all platforms. ### Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of Product, the Senior Product Manager will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams to design, build, and roll-out franchise strategies for our licensed product lines that deliver on the company’s vision and strategy. This role will be critical in achieving Aspyr’s company vision and values by collaborating with publishing, development, and finance stakeholders to align sound business plans, franchise development strategies, and marketing executions for product delivery. The ideal candidate will have experience in game development and/or product management, a strong business acumen, and an obsession with high quality video games. ### Essential Functions:
  • Drive IP franchise strateg(ies) including business case, development, and players’ needs to deliver high quality video games, and post-launch content
  • Partner with product team & project leads to implement long-term franchise strategy, with forecasted products, and post-launch content, providing strategic guidance to adjust roadmaps if scope changes
  • Work closely with marketing, creative, and sales teams to maximize market impact for our franchise(s) in a way that aligns with the company values, providing plans for how to maximize success post-launch
  • Accountable to company leadership for delivering franchise strategy aligned to business objectives
  • Ability to assess and problem-solve escalated project(s) concerns within each franchise in alignment with the company values, vision, and strategy
  • Work closely with IP holders for greenlight and pre-production to ensure brand standards are set for a predictable roadmap and approval timeline
  • Be a public evangelist for the product(s) & franchise as they relate to Aspyr products including speaking in interviews and other public forums on behalf of Aspyr
### Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8+ years of experience in product management with previous experience in a video game production/product role
  • 5+ years of experience in video game development
  • Experience managing small teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to estimate, propose, and validate business cases, budgets, P&L (profits & losses), and the financial risks for video game development and publishing
  • Demonstrated success in communicating effectively with all levels of the organization, key external partners, and external press
  • Organized and focused individual with strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job done
  • Ability to make thoughtful decisions quickly and balance what is right for the company, the product, the players, and the partners
  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful franchise throughout its lifecycle
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams
