Job Description

The Project Manager, Tax Incentive Programs and Government Programs for Research and Development, is responsible for managing and coordinating tax incentive initiatives and other government incentive programs to ensure that the company maximises its benefits from available programs. The role involves liaising with government agencies, internal departments, and external consultants to navigate the complexities of tax incentives and grants.
Must have:
  • Oversee federal, state, and local tax incentive opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize tax obligations.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external auditors.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Conduct research on current and proposed tax legislation.
  • Submit Tax File to Polish tax authorities.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of government grants.
  • Work with engineering, research, and development teams to identify eligible R&D activities.
  • Compile and prepare detailed technical and financial reports.
  • Analyze financial data and project documentation.
  • Ensure that all claims comply with National Revenue Administration guidelines.
  • Assist in managing the R&D claim process.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather technical information.
  • Monitor changes in R&D program regulations.
  • Provide support during KAS audits.

About This Role

The Project Manager, Tax Incentive Programs and Government Programs for Research and Development, is responsible for managing and coordinating tax incentive initiatives and other government incentive programs to ensure that the company maximises its benefits from available programs. The role involves liaising with government agencies, internal departments, and external consultants to navigate the complexities of tax incentives and grants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and Manage Opportunities: Oversee federal, state, and local tax incentive opportunities, including Research and Development (R&D) tax credits, New Markets Tax Credit, sustainability and renewable energy tax credits, and grants
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, and manage the preparation and filing of tax returns related to incentives. Create required reports and submit collected data to the appropriate administrative units
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize tax obligations, and minimize liabilities, and look for external funding and co-funding opportunities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and external auditors to facilitate tax audits and ensure accurate documentation. Collaborate with government agencies to submit necessary applications and obtain certifications essential for the company’s operations
  • Client and Stakeholder Management: Maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, providing advice on grants, tax incentive benefits, and eligibility requirements
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research on current and proposed tax legislation and grant programs to identify new opportunities and ensure the company remains compliant
  • Submit Tax File to Polish tax authorities. Ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations and providing strategic tax planning and advisory services to the organization.
  • Grant Management: Oversee the lifecycle of government grants, including governance, tracking, compliance, and reporting. Ensure proper documentation and timely submission of required reports to funding agencies.
  • Identify Eligible Activities: Work with engineering, research, and development teams to identify and document eligible R&D activities.
  • Prepare and Submit Claims: Compile and prepare detailed technical and financial reports to support R&D tax credit claims.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze financial data and project documentation to determine eligible expenses.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure that all claims comply with National Revenue Administration (Krajowa Administracja Skarbowa, (KAS)) guidelines and maintain meticulous records for audit purposes.
  • Project Management: Assist in managing the R&D claim process, including timelines, deliverables, and communication with internal stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments to gather technical information and financial data required for claims.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor changes in R&D program regulations and update internal processes accordingly.
  • Audit Support: Provide support during KAS audits, including gathering additional documentation and explanations as required

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related field.
  • A master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., CPA) would be an asset
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax credits or related field.
  • Skills:
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., Excel, tax software).

  • We follow a hybrid working model, with three days per week spent in the office.
