Senior QA Engineer

JOB OVERVIEW

Plan A Technologies is looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer who thrives on precision, collaboration, and innovation. This role combines hands-on manual testing (50%) with test automation (50%), using Playwright and emerging AI-driven testing tools. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that every release meets the highest standards of performance, reliability, and user experience. Please note: you must have at least 5+ years of experience with manual and automation testing and hands-on experience with AI tools for testing to be considered for this role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

• Design, execute, and maintain manual test cases for web and backend systems.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript or Python).
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and designers to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle.
• Participate in test planning, risk analysis, and defect triage meetings.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.).
• Apply AI-assisted testing approaches to optimize regression coverage and reduce manual effort.
• Identify, document, and track defects using tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Continuously evaluate and improve testing processes, frameworks, and coverage.
• Stay up to date with QA trends, especially in automation frameworks and AI applications in testing.

EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years of QA experience, with a balanced focus on manual and automation testing.
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright (preferred) or other modern frameworks (Cypress, Selenium, etc.).
• Experience writing and maintaining test automation scripts in JavaScript/TypeScript (or Python).
• Familiarity with API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured, etc.).
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and test integration.
• Practical exposure to AI tools for testing (e.g., Testim, Mabl, or AI-based defect prediction/analysis).Solid understanding of version control (Git).
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.

Nice to haves:

• Experience testing cloud-based systems (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Knowledge of performance testing tools (K6, JMeter, etc.).
• Background in BDD/TDD frameworks.
• Interest or experience in AI model validation or machine learning testing pipelines.
