Job Description
The Senior Revenue Recognition Accountant will work closely with the VP Controller, demonstrating a passion for learning, proactive attitude, ownership, business acumen, and interpersonal skills. They will be responsible for revenue recognition in monthly financial statement preparation, preparing and recording revenue components for the income statement, reconciling sub-modules to the general ledger, performing account analyses, and contributing to budget/forecast explanations. They will also liaise with auditors and coordinate reporting for revenue analysis. This role requires a driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Must have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.
- 5-10 years' experience in Accounting/Billing Operations, preferably in SaaS.
- Superior understanding of US GAAP and ASC 606.
Good to have:
- CPA preferred.
- Experience in Oracle Fusion Cloud and Salesforce.com.
- M&A due diligence is a plus.

Expectations for Success
- Responsible for the revenue recognition component of monthly financial statement preparation.
- Prepare and record all revenue components for the income statement as well as the related assets and, including deferred revenue. Compile, analyze and maintain all related supporting information for both the internal and external independent audit process.
- Reconcile the receivable, revenue, unbilled revenue and deferred revenue sub-modules to the general ledger and ensure any differences are accounted for properly.
- Perform month end account analyses on all balance sheet and income statement accounts related to revenue recognition and contribute to budget and forecast variance explanations.
- Liaison to internal and external independent auditors to support public company requirements.
- Coordinate and prepare reporting as requested by division and corporate leadership to support revenue analysis, forecasting and budgeting.
- Contribute to cross functional teams such as Financial Planning and Analysis, Tax, International, Internal audit, Sales and Legal.
Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required. CPA preferred.
- 5-10 years' experience in Accounting and/or Billing Operations, preferably in a SaaS environment for a global organization with $100+ million of revenue. With a combination of Big 4 and industry revenue experience, preferably with exposure to a high-tech organization a plus.
- Superior understanding of US GAAP and applicable regulations, specifically ASC 606.
- Ability to navigate a multi-company and country environment with multiple currencies.
- Experience in Oracle Fusion Cloud and Salesforce.com is preferred.
- M&A due diligence is a plus
- Ability to accommodate later hours during the monthly financial statement preparation process.
