Job Description

As a Senior RF and EMC Engineer, you will lead RF electronics and EMC competences in product development, defining complex electronic analog/digital/RF circuits and systems, and ensuring EMC performance. You will be part of the Electronics Systems and IoT department at Philips Innovation Engineering in Eindhoven, contributing to world-class hardware platforms and innovative connectivity solutions within an Agile development approach.
Must have:
  • Ensure required EMC performance in RF electronics systems.
  • Prepare and guide EMC (Pre-)Compliance tests.
  • Apply EMC standards to medical electronic systems.
  • Design, realize, and verify analog and complex RF electronic circuits.
  • Review PCBA designs for signal and power integrity.
  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering or comparable.
  • At least 10 years experience in product development.
  • Proven experience with EMC standards compliant product development.
  • Hands-on experience with RF measurements and EMC tests.
  • Solid experience with complex electronic systems including RF.
Good to have:
  • Experience with medical product development.
  • Experience with working in multidisciplinary teams, including multi-site (global) development.

Job Description

As Senior RF and EMC Engineer, you represent our RF electronics and EMC competences in product development core teams to deliver multi-disciplinary innovations. You embrace the challenge to define complex electronic analog / digital / RF circuits and systems and to ensure EMC performance in cooperation with other disciplines.

You are part of the Electronics Systems and IoT department, which is part of Philips Innovation Engineering and located on the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven (the Netherlands). Our department is an integral part and differentiator of many Philips products and services, delivering world-class hardware platforms, analog, digital, and RF designs, medical devices, power supplies, connectivity modules and development and engineering services.

Our team supports exploratory work, fast realization of prototypes and effective product development, by applying in-depth knowledge of the most innovative connectivity solutions, integrated platforms and standards, in combination with an Agile development approach. You will work in a team of about 15 mixed signal electronics, RF and EMC engineers.

Your role:

  • Ensure the required EMC performance during the design, implementation, and verification of complex RF electronics systems
  • Prepare and guide EMC (Pre-)Compliance tests of complex electronics systems
  • Apply EMC standards to complex electronic medical systems
  • Design, realize, and verify analog and complex RF (radio frequency) electronic circuits and systems
  • Review PCBA designs on signal integrity and power integrity
  • Stay up to date with developments in the field and propose ways to strengthen relevant team competencies
  • Define the scope of activities and translate customer wishes into clear requirements and plans
  • Provide input to project plans, including effort estimations based on requirements
  • Report technical progress and outcomes to stakeholders through clear communication and documentation
  • Build a strong network within and outside the organization to promote departmental competences and skills

You’re the right fit if you have:

  • A Master’s degree in electrical engineering or a comparable field
  • At least 10 years of experience in a product development environment
  • Proven experience with the development of products compliant with EMC standards
  • Hands-on experience with RF measurements and EMC tests
  • Solid experience with complex electronic systems including RF
  • Strong modeling and simulation skills (LTSPICE, Matlab/Simulink, HFSS/CST)
  • A hands-on, pro-active, and can-do attitude
  • A strong focus on quality and attention to detail, combined with a customer-oriented mindset
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Networking skills and a collaborative, team-player spirit
  • Preferred is experience with medical product development and experience with working in multidisciplinary teams, including multi-site (i.e. global) development

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.

Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
