Senior Software Development Engineer

GoDaddy is seeking a dedicated JavaScript Engineer to build high-performance, scalable applications. This role involves developing real-time, customizable white-label products for global customers, directly impacting user experience. You will contribute to planning, architecture, implementation, and maintenance of client and server-side JavaScript platforms, ensuring high-quality, performant systems, and mentoring other developers.

Must Have

• Write great code and create unit and integration tests
• Participate in planning, architectural discussion, implementation, and maintenance of JavaScript platform
• Perform code reviews and advocate for clean, high-quality code
• Participate in DevOps, release, and on-call activities
• Engage with engineers & partners across GoDaddy to solve problems
• Ensure a high-quality and performant system
• Support and mentor other developers
• Strong proficiency with React (CSR & SSR)
• Proficient with NodeJS
• Proficiency in API-driven design, particularly REST
• Professional software development experience
• Strong understanding of core web technologies: Modern JavaScript (ES6+), CSS3, and HTML5
• Strong foundational skills (data structures, design patterns)
• Excellent oral and written communication and team collaboration skills
• Understanding of git and git-based workflows

Good to Have

• Exposure to containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with multiple JavaScript tooling libraries (webpack)
• Experience managing or contributing to open-source projects
• Knowledge of principles for high-performance design (package sizes, Google Web Vitals)
• Knowledge of, and exposure to, development using AWS platform

Your experience should include...

• Strong proficiency with React both CSR & SSR.
• Proficient with NodeJS.
• Proficiency in API-driven design, particularly REST.
• Professional software development experience.
• Strong understanding of the fundamentals of core web technologies: Modern JavaScript (ES6+), CSS3, and HTML5.
• Strong foundational skills (data structures, design patterns).
• Excellent oral and written communication and team collaboration skills.
• Understanding of git and git-based workflows.

You might also have...

• Exposure to containerisation using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
