Appier is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for its Ad Cloud Bidding team in Tokyo. This role focuses on maintaining and optimizing large-scale distributed systems, ensuring reliability and efficiency through automation, monitoring, and incident management. Responsibilities include managing deployments, designing automated pipelines, troubleshooting production incidents, and participating in on-call rotations to support Appier's AI-powered business decision-making platforms.

Must Have

• Manage system deployment, configuration, and release pipelines
• Design and manage automated deployment pipelines
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and disaster recovery strategies
• Troubleshoot production incidents and perform root cause analysis
• Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident response
• Continuously evaluate and adopt new tools or technologies to improve operational workflows
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related fields
• 3+ years of experience in backend engineering or site reliability engineering
• Familiar with Unix/Linux environments
• Scripting or programming skills in Python, Go, or Bash
• Experience in infrastructure-as-code tools
• Proactive mindset toward automation and continuous improvement
• Strong sense of ownership
• Proficiency in Chinese

• Experience with cloud infrastructure
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and observability tools
• Knowledge of performance profiling and load testing tools
