Job Description

The Opportunity:

Are you a detail-oriented financial professional with expertise in European accounting regulations? Do you have a strong background in tax compliance, audit preparation, and managing financial operations? If so, you could be a perfect fit for the Senior Staff Accountant/Accounting Manager to manage financial processes for our UK, NL, and Germany entities. This role will be accountable for ensuring compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and internal controls, and will engage with external auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders.

This role will be based in our Utrecht office, managing the accounting processes for our EU operations, including month-end close, tax filings, audit preparations, and financial reporting.

Location: Utrecht, Netherlands Candidates are required to be located in the Netherlands and be in our Facility in Utrecht at least four days a week.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Execute month-end close processes, ensuring all journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting are completed on time.
  • Manage general ledger (GL) transactions for the UK, NL, and Germany, ensuring compliance with European accounting standards.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare tax filings, including corporate income tax, VAT, and payroll taxes, for the UK, NL, and Germany.
  • Assist with audit preparation and provide documentation for external auditors.
  • Manage weekly credit card reconciliation process, collecting and verifying business expenses and receipts from cardholders.
  • Work with internal teams to track financial performance and manage budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and maintain organized financial records for EU operations.
  • Use ERP systems to manage financial transactions and inventory reporting.
  • Maintain structured documentation and assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial forecasts.

What You'll Need: 

  • College/University degree in accounting or an equivalent field.
  • 1-5+ years of experience in accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and ERP systems such as
  • QuickBooks, SAP S/4Hana, SAP Concur Expense, Request and Travel, Invoice, Click Up, and DATEV.
  • Strong attention to detail and well-developed organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of European accounting standards and regulations.
  • Knowledge of European taxation, including but not limited to wage tax (Loonbelasting), VAT (Omzetbelasting), and corporate income tax.
  • Ability to work both self-directed and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented and focused.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new concepts and skills.
  • Fluent in English.
