Job Description

Gunzilla Games seeks a Senior Technical VFX Artist to contribute to their AAA Extraction Battle Royale shooter, Off The Grid. Responsibilities include creating and optimizing VFX in Unreal Engine (Niagara), managing the VFX pipeline, mentoring artists, and collaborating with other departments. The ideal candidate possesses strong experience with Unreal Engine's material graph, shader creation, performance optimization, and scripting (Blueprints). Experience with profiling tools and a shipped AAA title is required.

Founded in 2020, Gunzilla Games is the independent AAA video game developer and publisher behind the free-to-play mobile game TECHNOCORE, the gamer-first blockchain GUNZ, and the upcoming next-gen battle royale Off The Grid, in three metropolitan locations: Frankfurt, Germany (HQ); Kyiv, Ukraine; and London, UK. ABOUT THE JOB

Gunzilla Games is looking for a Senior Technical VFX Artist to join us in working on OTG (Off The Grid), an all-new AAA Extraction Battle Royale shooter, currently available as Early Access on PlayStation®5, Xbox® Series X|S, and PC.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with VFX and Shaders in Unreal or similar engines to create new features.
  • Create and optimize Niagara Systems.
  • Take responsibility for the VFX pipeline, briefing, mentoring/informing VFX Artists on best practices, validation/reviews and keeping documentation up to date.
  • Confidence in the Material Graph inside Unreal to create any shaders and VFX, and knowledge on how to optimize for performance.
  • Working with other departments such as Design, Tech Art and Env Art to support shaders and VFX.
  • Stay current with industry trends and techniques to improve our VFX pipeline continuously.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience with VFX and Shaders in Unreal or similar engines, preferably Niagara.
  • Able to author module scripts.
  • Experience with Blueprints
  • Experience with Unreal Insights or any profiling tools such as Pix or RenderDoc to diagnose VFX/Rendering performance bottlenecks
  • Previously shipped AAA title as a VFX Artist.
