Power Integrations, Inc., a Silicon Valley-based company specializing in high-performance electronic components for high-voltage power-conversion systems, is seeking a Senior Technician (Electrical Engineering). The role involves supporting system and product development, as well as product definition, with active involvement in circuit development and evaluation of new designs. Responsibilities include providing custom prototypes, test applications, and special builds; evaluating, characterizing, and adapting gate driver designs; and testing and sourcing components. Additional duties encompass setup and optimization of lab infrastructure, CAD design, and automation of test procedures. The company's products enable energy-efficient power supplies for a wide range of electronic devices and enhance efficiency in high-power applications.
Must have:
  • Completed education as a state-certified technician in electrical engineering
  • Approximately 6+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Expertise in assembling and building power electronic circuits
  • Proficient in mechanical design using CAD tools (e.g., Alibre)
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Good command of English (written and spoken)
Good to have:
  • Experience in circuit design and PCB layout using CAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer)

Senior Technician- High Power
Power Integrations, Inc., is a Silicon Valley-based supplier of high-performance electronic components used in high-voltage power-conversion systems. Our integrated circuits and diodes enable compact, energy-efficient AC-DC power supplies for a vast range of electronic products including mobile devices, TVs, PCs, appliances, smart utility meters and LED lights. Our SCALE™ IGBT drivers enhance the efficiency, reliability and cost of high-power applications such as industrial motor drives, solar and wind energy systems, electric vehicles and high-voltage DC transmission.  
 
Location: (Soest district, Germany) 
As a Senior Technician (Electrical Engineering), you will strengthen our technical team in the lab and support both system and product development, as well as product definition. You will be actively involved in circuit development and evaluate newly created designs.
 
Primary Responsibilities: 
  • Provision of custom prototypes, test applications, and special builds
  • Evaluation, characterisation, and adaptation of gate driver designs (low and high voltage)
  • Testing and sourcing of components
Additional Responsibilities: 
  • Setup and optimisation of the lab infrastructure
  • CAD design
  • Automation of test procedures
Qualifications: 
  • Completed education as a state-certified technician (Bachelor Professional) in electrical engineering or a similar technical background
  • Approximately 6+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Expertise in assembling and building power electronic circuits, with a focus on gate drivers and inverter systems
  • Proficient in mechanical design using CAD tools (e.g., Alibre)
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Good command of English (written and spoken)
  • Ideally: experience in circuit design and PCB layout using CAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer)
