Job Description
The Senior Test Automation Engineer will develop and maintain automated test frameworks, primarily focusing on API testing, to ensure comprehensive coverage and reliability of backend services. This role involves integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, designing and implementing efficient testing solutions for APIs, and serving as a technical expert in automation. The engineer will also lead projects, communicate across teams to troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to improving product reliability and performance. Must have:
- 4+ years of software test automation experience, particularly with API testing frameworks
- Proficiency in scripting with TypeScript/JavaScript and/or Python, plus Postman experience
- Ability to lead projects and drive initiatives to completion, with meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate technical issues and solutions
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and collaborating with DevOps teams
- JMeter experience

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Automation Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on crafting high-quality automated tests, with an emphasis on API testing, to enhance software quality and user experience. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in automation frameworks and a proactive approach to integrating testing within the development process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain robust automated test frameworks primarily focused on API testing, ensuring comprehensive coverage and reliability of backend services.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, collaborating closely with the DevOps and Infrastructure teams to enhance deployment processes and ensure seamless test execution.
- Design and implement efficient testing solutions for APIs, ensuring the accuracy, performance, and stability of test scenarios across different environments.
- Serve as a technical expert in automation, assisting in the selection and adaptation of various testing tools and frameworks.
- Lead projects from inception to completion, ensuring that quality standards and deadlines are met.
- Actively communicate and collaborate across teams to troubleshoot complex issues, delivering solutions that improve product reliability and performance.
- Extensive experience in software test automation (4+ years) including hands-on expertise with API testing frameworks,
- Proficiency in scripting with TypeScript/JavaScript and/or Python Postman experience
- Proven ability to lead projects and push initiatives toward completion while maintaining a meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical issues and solutions to various stakeholders.
- JMeter experience
- Strong experience in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and collaborating with DevOps teams to optimize processes.
- Experience with hardware testing is highly desirable and considered a significant advantage.
- A track record of innovative problem-solving and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
- A collaborative spirit, capable of working effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
- Candidate must reside within Portugal with legal right to live and work in Portugal.
