Job Description

As a Senior Server Programmer, you will be part of a team developing highly available back-end systems and servers for large-scale MMO games. You will fully own complex systems, working closely with game designers and other disciplines. The role involves bug fixing, mentoring junior staff, and designing and developing high-quality code systems. You will also drive engineering processes and contribute improvements.
Good To Have:
  • Experience with cloud services such as PlayFab and GameSparks.

Must Have:

  • Playing a key role in bug fixing and helping the team to deliver milestones.
  • Taking an active role in the mentoring and development of junior staff.
  • Designing, planning, and developing high quality code systems.
  • Good communication skills to contribute to Scrum meetings and create innovative solutions.
  • Driving engineering processes and contributing improvements.
  • Capable of working autonomously, gathering requirements, and creating solutions.
  • Capable of learning new languages or technologies without guidance.
  • Staying up to date with emerging technologies and industry movements.
  • Enjoying working with different technologies and keen to learn new ones.
  • Adept at communicating with colleagues and customers.
  • Motivated by creative freedom, ground-breaking initiatives, and unknown territory.
  • Preferring a creative, open-thinking environment.

  • 5+ years' industry experience.
  • Several years' C# experience.
  • Experience with Unity and other engines such as Unreal.
  • Proven debugging and critical analysis skills.

As a Senior Server Programmer, you will be part of a team developing highly available back-end systems and servers for large-scale MMO games for our highly prestigious co-development partners.

Our studio is based in Royal Leamington Spa and we also have remote studios in Poland and Spain. Our three studios have been built on the same original spirit and values since our beginning.

Role Overview

###### You enjoy:

  • Working with a highly experienced team on all areas of the game, both client and server.
  • Fully owning complex systems through design and development, working closely with the game designers and other disciplines to realise their visions.
  • Playing a key role in bug fixing and helping the team to deliver milestones.
  • Taking an active role in the mentoring and development of junior staff.
  • Using your passion for gaming, you will design, plan and develop high quality code systems, working closely with the game designers and other disciplines to realise their visions.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to contribute to Scrum meetings and create innovative solutions for our games.
  • Driving the engineering processes in addition to programming and like to contribute improvements where applicable.
