Job Summary
High Voltage is actively seeking an experienced Senior Unreal Gameplay Programmer to join their rapidly growing Engineering team. This role involves close collaboration with art and design to create and iterate on gameplay features, utilizing rapid prototyping while ensuring strong architectural and algorithmic decisions. The programmer will write robust, maintainable code, improve existing gameplay systems by diagnosing and fixing networking and gameplay issues, and contribute ideas to all aspects of the game’s production and development.
Must Have
- Work closely with art and design to create and iterate on gameplay features
- Use rapid prototyping while ensuring strong architectural and algorithmic decisions
- Write robust, understandable code and systems for long term use and maintenance
- Improve existing gameplay systems by diagnosing and fixing networking and gameplay issues
- Contribute ideas toward all aspects of the game’s production and development
- Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience
- 5-10 years Unreal Engine development experience
- Experience developing games professionally on PC and consoles with shipped titles
- Strong C++ and Epic Blueprint skills
- Ability to code and architect gameplay mechanics and tools
- Strong math skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English
- Self-motivated, strong work ethic

As a Gameplay Programmer at High Voltage, you will play a vital role in driving the development of future gameplay features.

Responsibilities:
- Work closely with art and design to create and iterate on gameplay features
- Use rapid prototyping while ensuring that strong architectural and algorithmic decisions are made
- Write robust, understandable code and systems that are designed for long term use and maintenance.
- Improve existing gameplay systems by diagnosing and fixing networking and gameplay issues.
- Contribute ideas toward all aspects of the game’s production and development
Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience
- 5-10 years Unreal Engine development experience
- Experience developing games professionally on PC and consoles with shipped titles
- A keen analytical mind, with strong problem-solving skills
- Strong C++ and Epic Blueprint skills and the ability to code and architect gameplay mechanics and tools
- Strong math skills
- Well versed in games and the ability to articulate what is strong/weak about the design of existing games (an interest in online games is preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate fluently in English (written and verbal)
- Self-motivated, strong work ethic, and able to work independently
- Passion for video games
