Job Summary
CD PROJEKT RED is seeking an Engineering Manager for The Witcher 4. This role involves leading a gameplay engineering team to develop cutting-edge animation, locomotion, and camera systems. The manager will collaborate with designers, animators, and QA to deliver high-quality gameplay experiences, contributing to a beloved RPG series. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, leadership experience, and a deep passion for games.
Must Have
- Lead and support a gameplay engineering team
- Collaborate with Product Owner and cross-functional departments
- Foster growth within the development team and nurture technical talent
- Develop and maintain core gameplay features (locomotion, animation, camera systems)
- Optimize and debug gameplay systems in collaboration with QA
- Ensure alignment across teams (designers, animators, QA, etc.)
- At least 5 years of experience working in Unreal Engine on AA or AAA projects
- Direct experience working on gameplay topics such as locomotion, combat, and camera systems
- Proven experience leading a development team of around 7 members or similar scale
- Credited on at least one shipped AA or AAA title in a lead or management role
- Proficiency in C++ and Unreal Engine 5
- Solid understanding of gameplay systems (e.g. motion matching, animation systems)
- Strong communication and team leadership skills
- Experience in risk management and team development
- Strong working proficiency in English (spoken and written)

Working mode
- In-office in a hybrid or full-time capacity in Warsaw, Poland. Relocation is required.
