Job Description

The Simulation Technician is responsible to the Maintenance Manager (or delegate) to perform all preventative and corrective maintenance on training devices under support in a safe and effective manner, ensuring maximum successful training events are able to be achieved by the end user. The role is also responsible for supply support within the maintenance services including; stock takes, parts ordering, shipping and receiving of parts. This role offers carrying out maintenance tasks, assisting with investigations, and participating in continuous improvement activities.
Must have:
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on training devices.
  • Ensure maximum successful training events.
  • Manage supply support, including stock takes, parts ordering, shipping, and receiving.
  • Hold Cert IV in Aeroskills Avionics, Electrotechnology, or Information Technology.
  • Possess sound knowledge of computer/IT systems and networking.
  • Hold Senior First Aid & CPR.
  • Have aviation and/or flight simulator industry experience.
  • Be eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance.

About This Role

The Simulation Technician is responsible to the Maintenance Manager (or delegate) to perform all preventative and corrective maintenance on training devices under support in a safe and effective manner, ensuring maximum successful training events are able to be achieved by the end user.

The role is also responsible for supply support within the maintenance services including; stock takes, parts ordering, shipping and receiving of parts.

What this role offers you:

  • Carries out all maintenance tasks effectively as directed by Senior Simulation Technician or Maintenance Manager
  • Assists Senior Simulation Technicians with investigations supporting site-based engineering development needs
  • Participates in maintenance related continuous improvement activities
  • Works to CAE’s Environment, Health & Safety Management System

Our ideal person has:

  • Cert IV in one of the following; Aeroskills Avionics, Electrotechnology, Information Technology (or similar)
  • Sound knowledge of computer/IT system and networking
  • Senior First Aid & CPR
  • Aviation and/or flight simulator industry experience

Location:

  • RAAF Base Edinburgh, South Australia
  • This is an on-site role

Security requirements

As the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, you must be eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance, and preferably already hold a current SECRET (NV1) clearance.
