Job Description

Wind River is seeking a Cloud Native Software Developer to contribute to the development of eLxr, a Debian derivative designed as an Edge to Core solution for Linux customers. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying the next generation of Kubernetes as a distributed OS. You will collaborate closely with Product Management, QA, OS development, and customer-facing teams to ensure timely delivery of software requirements. This position requires excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills to actively participate in global projects with colleagues worldwide. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of cloud development experience.
Must have:
  • 3+ years of cloud development experience
  • Proficiency in Python, Go, or similar languages
  • Excellent Linux systems and networking knowledge
  • Hands-on Docker and Kubernetes experience
  • Experience with microservices architecture
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Proficiency in pipeline automation
  • Proactive and adaptable with a willingness to learn
Good to have:
  • 3+ years of experience building ML models
  • Experience in NLP, LLM, Knowledge Graph

Job Summary: 

We seek a Cloud Native Software Developer to help build eLxr, a Debian derivative that aims to provide a new Edge to Core solution for Linux customers. 

As a key member of our team, you will be pivotal in designing, developing, and deploying the next generation of Kubernetes as a distributed OS. You'll work closely with Product Management, QA, OS dev, and customer-facing teams to ensure software requirements are met timely. Excellent communication skills, collaboration, and teamwork are essential, as you'll actively participate in global projects, working with colleagues worldwide. You should have 3+ years of cloud development experience to succeed in this role. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and architect cloud-native solutions that align with business objectives and best practices. 
  • Build a Kubernetes distribution, package, and build a distributed OS for cloud-native applications. 
  • Fix internal and customer-reported defects and support customers building cloud-native applications. 
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows to streamline the deployment process and ensure scalability, reliability, and performance. 
  • Implement security best practices and compliance requirements to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of data in cloud-native environments. 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field 
  • 3-15 years’ experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies 
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, or similar. 
  • Excellent knowledge of Linux systems and networking fundamentals 
  • Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes (k3s/k8s) 
  • Experience deploying and managing VMs + KVM. 
  • Experience with microservices architecture, serverless computing, and API design. 
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. 
  • Proficiency in pipeline automation 
  • Proactive and adaptable with a willingness to learn new skills and technologies. 

Desirable: 

  • 3+ years’ experience building ML models in commercial products. 
  • Experience in NLP, LLM, Knowledge Graph, and related fields.
