Join BETA CAE Systems, Greece, as a Software Engineer II at Cadence Design Systems, a leader in mechanical and electronic systems design. This role involves leveraging Cadence’s Intelligent System Design strategy and BETA CAE’s innovative engineering solutions to develop advanced products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape the future by designing, developing, troubleshooting, and debugging software programs focused on physical synthesis and simulation, conducting literature reviews, and driving continuous improvements in simulation accuracy and performance.
Must have:
  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs
  • Focus on physical synthesis and simulation
  • Conduct literature reviews for new methodologies in finite element simulations
  • Collaborate with product engineers for robust engineering solutions
  • Drive continuous improvements in simulation accuracy and performance
  • PhD or MSc in Mechanical, Civil, Applied Mathematics, or related field
  • Focus on linear and nonlinear finite elements design
  • Expertise in numerical methods for large-scale systems
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming and software development
  • Solid foundation in vector, differential, and integral calculus
Good to have:
  • Familiarity with methods for solving systems of linear and nonlinear algebraic equations
  • Experience in multithreaded programming
  • Experience in MPI (Message Passing Interface) programming
  • Experience in GPU programming
  • Efficient use of the C++ Standard Template Library (STL)
  • Understanding of code complexity measurement techniques (e.g., Big-O notation)
  • Understanding of code quality assessment techniques (e.g., profiling, tracing)
  • Understanding of disk management (e.g., read/write operations, memory-mapped files)
  • Understanding of memory management (heap and stack usage)
  • Understanding of compilation processes (e.g., compiling, linking, static/dynamic libraries)
  • Understanding of debugging techniques
  • Understanding of dynamic programming methodologies
  • Strong grasp of software quality assurance practices

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs focused on physical synthesis and simulation
  • Conduct literature reviews to investigate and implement new methodologies in finite element simulations
  • Collaborate closely with product engineers’ teams to deliver robust engineering solutions and customer-centric workarounds
  • Drive continuous improvements in simulation accuracy, computational performance, and software robustness

Qualifications you need to have:

  • PhD or MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field, with a focus on the design of linear and nonlinear finite elements, including:
  • Geometric nonlinearities (large deformations and rotations)
  • Material nonlinearities
  • Contact modeling
  • Strong expertise in numerical methods for solving large-scale systems, including:
  • Symmetric eigenvalue analysis
  • Linear frequency and transient response analysis
  • Implicit nonlinear static and transient response analysis
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming and software development
  • Solid foundation in vector, differential, and integral calculus

Qualifications that will be considered:

  • Familiarity with methods for solving systems of linear and nonlinear algebraic equations.
  • Experience in:
  • Multithreaded programming
