Job Summary

As a Software Engineer II, you will manage a centralized Service Catalog to streamline infrastructure provisioning, deployment automation, and service lifecycle management. Your role spans the entire product lifecycle, from gathering requirements to writing and deploying microservices. You will develop API-based services in Go and TypeScript, create front-end experiences with React/JS, and implement Kubernetes-based infrastructure. This position requires 3+ years of experience with cloud technologies and CI/CD tools.

Must Have

  • Write code that meets peer-reviewed code standards.
  • Create API-based services in Go and TypeScript.
  • Create a rich front-end experience using React/JS.
  • Author runbooks, configure dashboards, alerts, and automate tasks.
  • Implement and support Kubernetes-based infrastructure.
  • 3+ years of experience in a software engineering role.
  • Proficiency in Golang, TypeScript, Node.js, Express, or React.
  • Experience with cloud technologies like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience building, deploying, running, and supporting highly available, high-scale, secure infrastructure and distributed applications in a cloud service with Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of how web-related services work, including load balancers, high availability solutions, web servers, databases, caching daemons.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as ArgoCD and GitLab.

As a Software Engineer, your role covers the entire life cycle of a product-- from gathering requirements, to writing medium- to large-scale microservices, to deploying and supporting the application. Reporting to Sr. Manager, you will manage a centralized Service Catalog that streamlines infrastructure provisioning, deployment automation, and service lifecycle management.

Responsibilities:

  • You will write code that meets peer-reviewed code standards, using team-selected tools.
  • You will create API-based services in Go and TypeScript.
  • You will create a rich front-end experience using React/JS
  • You will author runbooks, configure dashboards, alerts, and finding strategies to automate away pain.
  • You will implement and support Kubernetes-based infrastructure.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a software engineering role.
  • Proficiency in Golang, TypeScript, Node.js, or Express. React.
  • Experience with cloud technologies like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience building, deploying, running, and supporting highly available, high-scale, secure infrastructure and distributed applications in a cloud service with Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of how web-related services work-- including load balancers, high availability solutions, web servers, databases, caching daemons.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as ArgoCD and GitLab.

This is a hybrid remote/in-office role.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).

PAY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$100,000 - $139,500 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
