Job Description

The Software Engineer designs, develops, tests, and maintains the NICE CX software platform. Key responsibilities include design and development of NICE CX products and features, unit testing, code reviews, resolving defects during QA, supporting the production environment, and assisting other developers in agile teams. This role involves evaluating product quality by developing test plans to validate functionality and performance, and designing/executing test cases to ensure high quality and timely deliveries to the NICE CXOne platform. The engineer will also communicate project risks and drive defect discovery.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in modern software development
  • Proficient in at least one backend language (e.g., C#, Go)
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
  • Comfortable with relational databases and SQL
  • Experience designing and developing user stories
  • Able to write unit and functional automated tests
  • Familiar with test automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress)
  • Strong understanding of version control systems (Git, Bitbucket)
  • Experience participating in code reviews
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies
  • Clear and concise communication skills
Good to have:
  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS preferred)
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automation
  • Experience supporting production applications and troubleshooting defects
  • Prior experience in environments where developers own full delivery
  • Familiarity with Playwright + TypeScript stack
  • Comfort reviewing acceptance criteria and converting them into test strategies

So, what’s the role all about?

The Software Engineer designs, develops, tests and maintains the NICE CX software platform. Key responsibilities include all tiers of the NICE CX technology, including (but not limited to) design and development of NICE CX products and features, unit testing, code reviews, resolving defects encountered during the QA cycle, supporting the production environment, and assisting other developers in a team environment utilizing agile development processes.

The Software Engineer is also responsible for evaluating the overall quality of our products by developing test plans to validate product functionality and performance. As an integral contributor to our Agile development teams the Software Engineer in test designs and executes test cases to ensure the highest level of quality and timely deliveries to the NICE CXOne platform.
Throughout the project lifecycle this individual will clearly outline the current state of the product and project by communicating any and all risks to the team.  Ultimately, this engineer is experienced enough to drive defect discovery.

About the team:   

The DF-Workflow team is the overwatch and facilitator for all routing of digital contacts across Nice's CX platform. This team creates solutions to enable our customers to be able to effectively, reliably and safely route their customers' digital contacts through the CX platform. Interacting with and partnering with 17 other teams which comprise the Digital Workstream, as well as critical platform Orchestration teams, the DF-Workflow keeps a hypersonic pace pushing and innovating on complex and platform-critical processes, features, components, and products.

  • Evaluate and implement scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to coding standards.
  • Quickly and effectively troubleshoot and resolve intricate issues in production and development environments.
  • Understand and apply security best practices in coding and deployment
  • Understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices and automation improvements.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to coding standards.
  • Quickly and effectively troubleshoot and resolve intricate issues in production and development environments.
  • Understand and apply security best practices in coding and deployment
  • Drive innovation by researching, recommending, and integrating new technologies and practices.

 

Have you got what it takes?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years of experience in modern software development
  • Proficient in at least one backend language (e.g., C#, Go) and strong understanding of object-oriented programming
  • Comfortable working with relational databases and writing effective SQL queries
  • Experience designing and developing user stories from planning through deployment
  • Able to write both unit and functional automated tests as part of delivering high-quality code
  • Familiar with a test automation framework such as Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of version control systems (Git, Bitbucket, or similar)
  • Experience participating in code reviews, including reviewing automated tests for completeness and accuracy
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and collaborative sprint workflows
  • Clear and concise communicator, comfortable discussing implementation details and testing strategies with peers 

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS preferred)
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automation
  • Experience supporting production applications and troubleshooting defects
  • Prior experience in environments where developers own full delivery, including test automation and validation
