This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining accounting systems such as Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, and Revenue Reconciliation. It includes reviewing financial reporting requirements, balancing books, preparing financial statements, and monitoring expenditures. The analyst will also provide records of assets, liabilities, and financial transactions, and may assist with revenue recognition processes and reporting.
Must Have
- Reconcile cash accounts weekly/monthly.
- Generate journal entries for month-end close.
- Prepare accounting for derivative instruments.
- Record settlement execution and perform variance analysis.
- Perform prepaid capitalization review.
- Record required reclass journal entries.
- Understand awarded grants/incentives.
- Prepare journal entries for grant accounting.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations for grants.
- Maintain Sarbanes-Oxley internal control narratives.
- Test documentation for areas of responsibility.
- Participate in quarterly review and annual audit.
- Participate in grant/incentive certification activities.
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum 2 years related experience.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent field.

Responsibilities
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Reconcile cash accounts on a weekly/monthly basis, including generating journal entries and other month-end close duties.
- Prepare all accounting related to the Company’s derivative instruments including mark-to-market journal entries, record settlement execution and perform variance analysis on a monthly basis.
- Perform prepaid capitalization review, record required reclass journal entries.
- Obtain an understanding of the awarded grants/incentives, prepare journal entries and perform balance sheet reconciliations in relation to grant accounting as part of month-end close activities
- Responsible for maintaining Sarbanes-Oxley internal control narratives and testing documentation for areas of responsibilities.
- Participate in quarterly review and annual audit.
- Participate in grant/incentive certification activities

Education and Experience
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent field required. CA, CPA a plus
- Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writ
Position Summary:
Develops, implements and/or maintains one or more accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, etc. Reviews and interprets financial reporting requirements, rules and regulations. Balances books and prepares profit and loss, cash flow, income and balance sheet statements. Monitors and develops monthly reports of revenues and expenditures for projects. Provides record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions. May prepare federal, state and local reports and tax returns. May assist in the setup of processes and procedures that properly capture, track and report revenue, including deferred revenue, in accordance with the company revenue recognition policy. May generate revenue reports for internal and/or external use. May interpret reports and records for managers/stakeholders. May be involved in reviewing, tracking and maintaining billing information in the financial systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and other accounting regulations.
