Sr. Cloud System Engineer

As the OpenText Lead Cloud Systems Engineer, you will automate and implement scalable processes and monitoring for high availability of services. This role leverages DevOps principles to deploy and maintain highly performing and scalable systems. You will work with automation technologies, configuration management tools, monitoring systems, and scripting languages, collaborating with engineering and operations teams to build robust platforms and improve time to market.

Must Have

• Automate and implement scalable processes and monitoring for high availability.
• Deploy system automation technologies.
• Experience with infrastructure configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet.
• Experience with Monitoring systems like Zabbix, New Relic, Microfocus OMI.
• Experience with common scripting languages (Python, Shell).
• Working closely with engineering and operations teams.
• Research, design, and build tools and systems to improve time to market.
• Create professional level Ansible playbooks for advanced systems tasks.
• Scripting for integrating with Ansible playbooks for systems maintenance.
• BS/MS in CS/engineering or equivalent.
• 4+ years of experience in a highly-complex technical operations environment.
• Experience with Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery (Jenkins, Packer, Artifactory, Docker) and Git.
• Solid knowledge with administering, deploying, and managing Red Hat, Solaris, and Windows.
• Solid knowledge of VMware & vSphere Administration and scripting.
• Expertise in C++ and Java on Solaris and Red Hat platforms.

What the role offers:

• Deploy system automation technologies to streamline development, testing and operational activities.
• Experience with infrastructure configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.
• Experience with Monitoring systems such as Zabbix, New Relic, and Microfocus OMI.
• Experience with common scripting languages (python, shell,)
• Working closely with engineering and operations teams across the organization to determine and incorporate their requirements into a robust, flexible, scalable platform in a continuous delivery model.
• Research, design and build tools and systems to improve time to market.
• Research and provide feedback on new technologies to satisfy business and technical requirements
• To be able to create professional level ansible playbooks for advanced systems tasks
• Scripting for integrating with ansible playbooks for systems maintenance information gathering , update inventory on large set of servers

What you need to succeed:

• BS/MS in CS/engineering or equivalent.
• 4+ years of experience in a highly-complex technical operations environment; directly working with monitoring and automation tools.
• Experience with Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery (Jenkins, Packer, Artifactory, Docker) and Git.
• Solid knowledge with administering, deploying, and managing Red Hat, Solaris, and Windows.
• Solid knowledge of VMware & vSphere Administration and scripting.
• Expertise in C++ and Java on Solaris and Red Hat platforms.
