This dedicated role will be in California, focusing on the optimization and support of complex, mission-critical communication systems.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Support: Provide expert technical support for specialized systems and product applications, including troubleshooting software-driven electronics, provisioning communication system infrastructure, and optimizing RF and Broadband architecture (legacy analog, advanced digital P25, and data infrastructure).
- System Management: Program, configure, optimize, test, and document complex communication systems.
- Maintenance & Analysis: Perform preventative maintenance routines to ensure proper system operation, with a focus on trend analysis and documentation of results.
- Problem Solving: Develop solutions for difficult technical problems encountered during system implementation, upgrades, or support issues.
- Collaboration: Team with Engineering, Project Management, and Sales personnel to effectively design, implement, optimize, and cut over advanced communication systems that meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Reporting: Provide weekly reports of activities and accomplishments.
- Learning & Development: Engage in continuous training on the latest technologies and troubleshooting techniques.
- Lab Administration: Maintain and administer the FSO learning lab center.
Required Expertise:
- Network Technologies: Experience with backhaul networks, including Microwave, Fiber, and MPLS routing.
- RF Systems: Extensive knowledge of RF systems such as transmitters, receivers, and antenna networks.
- Wired Communications: Expert knowledge in standard telephony and dedicated data circuits, packet switching techniques, and wired communication systems (LAN/WAN). This includes understanding computer network installation, configuration, and maintenance systems (cabling, routers, switches, firewalls, and bridges).
- Server Management: Capable of installing server hardware/OS and software infrastructure, and troubleshooting system/application-related issues.
- Software Proficiency: Computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Google Suite.
Candidate Requirements:
- Location: Must reside in California or the Washington State area to be available for 24/7 rotation of support, 365 days a year.
- Work Authorization: Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Clearance: Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by customers.
- Driving: Must have a current, valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Personal Attributes: Self-motivated and self-managed to perform required duties at a distance from direct supervision. Able to solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations.
This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.
Target Base Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 USD

- 4+ years experience in one of the following: Backhaul Networks, Fiber, MPLS, Microwave, Engineering, LMR, RF Systems, Radio Frequency, P25, Radio Communications, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, Networking Equipment, IT, IT Systems, Telecommunications, Public Safety, Networking equipment or Military experience
- Must be able to obtain a background clearance as required by our government customers.
