Job Description

As a Presales Systems Engineer Co-op at Motorola Solutions, you will partner with customers and the sales team to design and deliver world-class, end-to-end communication solutions. This role involves owning the technical design, discovering customer requirements, developing technology strategies, and designing system architectures. You will also be responsible for proposal development, technical presentations, and demonstrating equipment and software solutions. The position focuses on mission-critical communications technologies.

Good To Have:

General knowledge of wireless communications fundamentals and voice/data architectures (e.g. APCO P25, LTE, 802.11, 4G/5G)

Must Have:

Partner closely with customers and the sales team
Deliver customer-driven, world-class, leading-edge, end-to-end solutions
Own the solution's technical design, ensuring customer needs are met
Work within the engineering team to deliver solutions
Perform customer requirements discovery
Develop technology strategy
Design end-to-end system architecture

Conduct internal and external technical presentations
Perform equipment and software solution demos, including configuration and testing
Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree with graduation during or after December 2026

Job Description

A Presales Systems Engineer partners closely with customers and the sales team, delivering customer-driven, world-class, leading-edge, end-to-end solutions that rise to the communications and situational awareness challenges that our customers face. Working within a team of sales, service, engineering, and technical support resources, the Presales Systems Engineer Co-op is the overall owner of the solution's technical design, ensuring we meet our customers’ needs. As an engineering co-op, you will work within the engineering team to deliver customer-driven, world-class, leading-edge, end-to-end solutions that rise to the challenges that our customers face.

The team concentrates on the following mission-critical communications technologies at various levels of complexity:

Public safety grade mobile voice and data networks
Advanced mobile devices
Public safety mobile broadband networks and devices
Software applications for mission-critical intelligence
The typical scope of responsibilities may include the following:
Customer requirements discovery
Technology strategy development
End-to-end system architecture design
Proposal development
Internal and external technical presentations
Equipment and software solution demos, including configuration and testing

The ideal candidate has the following skills and capabilities:

Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
General knowledge of IT network and computer architecture
General knowledge of wireless communications fundamentals and voice/data architectures both Public and private (e.g. APCO P25, LTE, 802.11, 4G/5G) highly desirable
A positive attitude with a can-do mentality that enables you to be creative, resourceful and deliver results
Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Willingness to think outside the box and challenge the status quo
Attention to detail

Target Hourly Base Pay Range: $25.00-$30.00 USD
