Senior Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager/Program Manager is responsible for the delivery and governance of projects for Motorola’s customers in a defined territory. This role ensures professional project delivery, meeting key tactical, commercial, and contractual objectives with a client-centric focus. Responsibilities include managing the development and implementation of Motorola Solutions products or services, coordinating cross-functional teams, tracking project performance from inception to completion, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and with accepted quality metrics. The role also involves participating in project reviews, communicating status, utilizing methodologies like Six Sigma, and motivating the project team for optimal performance.

Must Have

• Manage development/implementation of Motorola Solutions products/services.
• Coordinate departmental or cross-functional teams.
• Manage projects from inception to completion, tracking performance.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and quality metrics.
• Participate in project review and status meetings, communicate project status.
• Utilize Six Sigma and project management methodologies.
• Motivate project team for optimal performance.
• Hold tertiary qualifications/certification in Project Management or Business Management (PRINCE2, PMBOK).
• Experience with project scheduling software (MS Project, P6).
• Minimum 10 years multi-disciplinary project management experience in IT/telecommunications.

Good to Have

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Communications, Electrical / Electronic), Information Technology or related discipline.
• Experience in radio communications or communications infrastructure projects.
• Experience in Systems Engineering or Defence Engineering principles.
• Contract and financial management experience.

The Senior Project Manager/Program Manager is responsible for the delivery of assigned projects and governance of all projects as a portfolio of work for Motorola’s customers in a defined territory. The objective of this role is to professionally deliver assigned projects and govern all other projects, both internally and externally, that satisfy key project (tactical) and commercial & contractual (strategic) objectives. The Senior Project Manager/Program Manager will operate with a ‘client centric’ focus.

Job Description

• Manages the development and/or implementation of Motorola Solutions products or services.
• Coordinates departmental or cross-functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgraded existing products or services.
• Manages projects from inception to completion (or transition), including tracking and evaluation of project performance.
• Ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and within accepted quality metrics.
• Participates in project review and status meetings, and communicates project status.
• Utilizes six sigma and project management methodologies to ensure maximum project effectiveness.
• Motivates project team to ensure optimal performance.
• May assist in the development of business plans, strategies, and approaches to take advantage of business opportunities.

Basic Requirements

Essential:

• Tertiary qualifications and/or certification in Project Management or Business Management (PRINCE2, PMBOK).
• Experience with project scheduling software (MS Project, P6, or similar).

Desirable:

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Communications, Electrical / Electronic), Information Technology or related discipline.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Essential:

• Minimum of 10 years multi-disciplinary experience in project management within the information technology and/or telecommunications industry.

Desirable:

• Experience in radio communications or communications infrastructure projects.
• Experience in Systems Engineering or Defence Engineering principles.
• Contract and financial management.
