Job Summary
The Commissioning Manager will lead and execute commissioning activities for major oil, gas, chemical, and process industry projects. This role involves ensuring all systems, equipment, and process units are safely and effectively tested, validated, and transitioned to operations, adhering to project specifications, industry regulations, and client expectations. Key responsibilities include assisting with company FATs, supervising commissioning activities, managing planning strategies, providing technical support, developing cost estimates, and advising clients and project teams on commissioning goals. The manager will also promote quality, safety, and environmental standards, manage documentation, oversee procurement, and resolve issues.
Must Have
- Lead and execute commissioning activities for major oil, gas, chemical, and process projects.
- Ensure safe and effective testing, validation, and transition to operations.
- Manage planning strategies and resource utilization for project completion.
- Provide technical support and cost estimation for sales and service teams.
- Advise clients and project teams on commissioning goals and responsibilities.
- Promote and ensure adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- Manage creation of sign-off documentation and drawing updates post-handover.
- Oversee procurement and coordinate personnel for commissioning scope.
- Resolve project issues and contribute to design and construction phases.
- Produce risk assessments and method statements for commissioning tasks.
- Full understanding of Electrical control Systems.
- Full understanding of Hydraulic control systems.
- Experience programming PLC and HMI control systems.
- Experience working in Atex Hazardous environments.
- Proficiency with accuload, multi-load, and Contrec load computers.
- Experience in fault finding in high pressure environments.
- Possess a full driving license.
- Experience producing SAT and RAMS documentation.
- Ability to read and understand PID drawings.

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to lead and execute commissioning activities across major oil, gas, chemical and process industry projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that all systems, equipment and process units are safely and effectively tested, validated and transitioned to operations in line with project specifications, industry regulations and client performance expectations.
More about the role:
- Assist with company FAT’s.
- Execute and supervise all activities in relation to commissioning activities.
- Manage planning strategies to achieve project completion and liaise across business units to utilise the correct resources.
- Provide technical support / estimation to the sales team.
- Provide technical support to service team around instrumentation and PLC / control systems.
- Develop cost estimates for commissioning activities in conjunction with the sales team.
- Advise and consult with clients on commissioning goals and objectives.
- Advise and consult with the project/service team in their commissioning responsibilities.
- Promote project and client quality safety and environmental standards throughout projects to ensure zero harm to personnel, plant, equipment and the environment.
- Manage creation of sign off acceptance documentation, liaise with project teams to ensure all drawings are updated post-handover.
- Actively manage day to day operational aspects of project commissioning and operational responsibility.
- Oversee purchasing and procurement of any necessary equipment required during commissioning.
- Coordinate between intercompany and sub-contracted personnel related to commissioning scope.
- Manage resolution of issues in conjunction with project teams.
- Contribute proactively during proposals, engineering design and construction phases.
- Participate actively, be accountable and responsible in the management of site operations.
- Manage and encourage all personnel to champion company and completion objectives of the project.
- Produce risk assessments and method statements covering all tasks required for the respective commissioning activities.
Qualifications
About you:
- A full understanding of Electrical control Systems.
- A full understanding of Hydraulic control systems.
- Experience of programming PLC and HMI control systems.
- Experience of working in Atex Hazardous environments.
