Job Summary

The Automotive MPU CAS role is a customer-facing technical position focused on enabling NXP’s advanced MPU platforms (S32G, S32N series) in automotive applications. It bridges design-in support, system-level consulting, and ensuring successful deployment of software-defined vehicle (SDV) architectures.

Must Have

  • Provide technical assistance for NXP Automotive MPU platforms.
  • Guide customers through hardware/software integration.
  • Advise on zonal gateway architectures and SDV programs.
  • Deliver technical presentations, demos, and training.
  • Assist with boot configuration, DDR setup, and multi-core initialization.
  • Validate AUTOSAR/Linux stacks, hypervisors, and real-time drivers.
  • Follow escalation procedures for technical issues.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in EE, CE, CS, or related field.
  • 3+ years in embedded software development, automotive preferred.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded systems.
  • Experience with real-time operating systems.
  • Familiarity with automotive communication protocols.
  • Experience with microcontrollers/microprocessors.
  • Proficiency with debugging tools.
  • Understanding of SDLC and version control systems.
  • Strong English communication skills.

Good to Have

  • Knowledge of automotive functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262) is a plus.

Job Responsibilities

  • Customer Application Support

Provide technical assistance to OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and partners for NXP Automotive MPU platforms (S32G, S32N series).

  • Design-In Enablement

Guide customers through hardware/software integration, including Ethernet TSN, CAN FD, FlexRay, and security engines (HSE, XRDC).

  • System-Level Consulting

Advise on zonal gateway architectures, virtualization, and ECU consolidation strategies for SDV (Software Defined Vehicle) programs.

  • Pre- & Post-Sales Technical Engagement

Deliver technical presentations, demos, PoC evaluations, application notes, and training materials.

  • Development & Debug Support

Assist with boot configuration, DDR setup, multi-core initialization, and validate AUTOSAR/Linux stacks, hypervisors, and real-time drivers.

  • Escalation & Issue Management

Follow structured escalation procedures for unresolved technical issues, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (+3 years) in embedded software development, preferably within the automotive industry.
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded systems.
  • Experience with real-time operating systems (e.g., FreeRTOS, QNX, AUTOSAR OS).
  • Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, FlexRay).
  • Experience with microcontrollers/microprocessors, including architecture understanding and peripheral interaction.
  • Proficiency with debugging tools (e.g., JTAG debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
  • Knowledge of automotive functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262) is a plus.
