What Does Success Look Like

As a Senior Lead / Principal Product Engineer, you will be a key technical leader responsible for designing, architecting, and driving highly scalable and distributed backend systems. You will play a pivotal role in setting engineering standards, mentoring senior engineers, and delivering platform innovations that fuel Sprinklr’s growth. Working closely with product and cross-functional stakeholders, you will shape technical strategy, ensure high system reliability, and influence the future direction of our technology.

What You’ll Do

• Architect and design large-scale, high-performance backend systems with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance.
• Drive technical strategy and decision-making, providing architectural leadership across multiple product lines.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
• Optimize distributed systems for performance, cost-efficiency, and resilience.
• Lead and mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical guidance.
• Evaluate and introduce new frameworks, tools, and technologies to enhance engineering effectiveness.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system-level challenges in distributed environments.
• Establish best practices in coding, testing, monitoring, and deployment to ensure engineering excellence.

What Makes You Qualified

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of backend development experience with a strong focus on Java and distributed systems.
• Proven expertise in Java frameworks (Spring, Spring Boot, etc.) and building large-scale applications.
• Strong knowledge of databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, or Elasticsearch.
• Hands-on experience with distributed data and messaging systems (Apache Kafka, Cassandra, Hadoop, etc.).
• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, architectural thinking, and ability to handle ambiguity.
• Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills — capable of influencing technical direction and uplifting teams.
