Responsibilities:

Central Engineering SIPI

The Central Engineering (CE) SIPI team ensures that the performance requirements of the silicon and the cost requirements of the product are met through the integration of silicon, package and platform electrical design. CE SIPI Packaging Signal Integrity also provides design support to engineering design teams for both current and forward-looking product development and feasibility studies.

Key Responsibilities

As a manager in the SIPI organization, you will be responsible for leading a team of highly skilled engineers in the electrical design, modeling, simulation and characterization of high-speed signal propagation and power delivery networks in AMD products.

The successful candidate will have an established background in managing a multi-site signal integrity design team in a fast-paced environment.

Manage an engineering team including staffing, mentoring, performance review, goal setting, and career development.
Lead the team in optimizing the product electrical designs from Concept to First Silicon.
Lead the team in electrical design support for next-generation IO standards definition.
Work closely with other teams in developing plans aligned with key objectives.
Provide technical and professional mentorship.
Clearly and concisely summarize and present technical status to product and engineering leaders and peers
Have technical insight to guide priorities and translate the asks into the right actions.

Preferred SKILLS and Experience

Experience in silicon packaging and PCB design for signal and power integrity
Familiarity with PCB, Package and IC level power delivery networks
Experience with high-speed digital signaling interfaces such as PCIE, DDR, USB, …
Expertise in electrical modeling EDA and AMS tools such as HFSS, SIwave, HSPICE
Expertise in electromagnetic theory and circuit analysis
Ability to effectively communicate ideas and results
Ability to collaborate and work harmoniously with others
Ability to work independently
5+ years relevant experience preferred
