eBay is seeking a dynamic Senior Product Manager for its Payments Platform, Tax & Monetization team to lead high-impact initiatives in Foreign Exchange (FX) and Payments Platform domains. This role involves developing secure, detailed, and efficient global payment solutions. The position requires a blend of front-end product knowledge, exploratory focus, and extensive back-end platform experience. Must Have:
  • 7+ years of experience in product management or software development, with significant exposure to payments, FX, or financial platforms.
  • Consistent track record of delivering both front-end user-facing products and back-end platform solutions.
  • Solid understanding of payments processing, FX mechanics, global settlement, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience driving global product strategies that balance innovation, operational flexibility, and market-specific requirements.
  • Strong analytical abilities, with expertise in experimenting, testing hypotheses, and using quantitative/qualitative methods.
  • Ability to lead sophisticated initiatives in a matrixed, global environment, influencing partners at all levels.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

About the team and the role:

Payments is one of eBay’s most critical growth drivers, powering global commerce at scale. We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Senior Product Manager to join our Payments Platform, Tax & Monetization team. In this role, you will lead high-impact initiatives in the Foreign Exchange (FX) and Payments Platform domains, developing solutions that enable secure, detailed, and efficient global payments.

This position demands a mix of front-end product knowledge, a focus on exploration, and extensive back-end platform experience. You will play a pivotal role in crafting, scaling, and evolving global payment solutions, ensuring our systems are robust, compliant, and optimized to deliver outstanding value for buyers, sellers, and the business.

What you will bring:

  • Define and communicate a compelling product vision and strategy for FX and Payments Platform initiatives, balancing near-term execution with long-term platform investments.
  • You will partner with engineering as a Product Owner in Agile teams and other product teams, delivering end-to-end solutions that span customer-facing experiences, APIs, and core services.
  • Design systems for high availability, reliability, and scalability across multiple geographies, currencies, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Lead initiatives that improve cross-border payment flows, enhance visibility, and drive cost efficiency.
  • You will employ analytics, customer insights, and experimentation frameworks to advise product design, validate hypotheses, and measure impact.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or technical (engineering) degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in product management or software development, with significant exposure to payments, FX, or financial platforms—ideally in large-scale eCommerce or marketplace environments.
  • Consistent track record of delivering both front-end user-facing products and back-end platform solutions.
  • Solid understanding of payments processing, FX mechanics, global settlement, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience driving global product strategies that balance innovation, operational flexibility, and market-specific requirements.
  • Strong analytical abilities, with expertise in experimenting, testing hypotheses, and using quantitative/qualitative methods,
  • Ability to lead sophisticated initiatives in a matrixed, global environment, influencing partners at all levels.

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

$124,000 - $208,300

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
