Sr. Software Engineer - C# / .NET Core

Motorola Solutions is seeking a passionate Sr. Software Engineer to join the Cloud Platforms & Services team. This role involves designing and developing custom software solutions for large-scale distributed systems, defining technical approaches, and contributing to the architecture of next-generation centralized storage. The engineer will work with C#, .NET Core, and cloud services like Azure, AWS, or GCP, focusing on high-availability and performant applications for public safety SaaS solutions, and will participate in an on-call rotation.

Must Have

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience
• Strong experience with C# and .NET Core
• Good understanding of Python/Go
• Good understanding of Kubernetes/Docker/CICD
• Good understanding of AWS/Azure/GCP
• Experience with PostgreSQL or CosmosDB
• US Citizenship required
• Ability to obtain background clearance
• Ability to work in the office once a week in Allen, TX, Chicago, IL, or Schaumburg, IL

Department Overview

The Cloud Platforms & Services team is responsible for the development and operations of critical cloud infrastructure and platform services, in support of public and hybrid cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions for public safety customers. This team is part of Software Enterprise division, which offers secure, reliable and efficient team communications, workflow and operational intelligence solutions for mission critical public safety and enterprise markets throughout the world. Our services leverage Cloud Computing infrastructure on Azure to build at scale.

Job Description

We are looking for a passionate Software Engineer, a problem solver to join the CCDrive cloud product in Cloud Platforms & Services org. Your responsibilities will include:

• Influence and create new designs, software, architecture, and methods for deploying large-scale distributed systems
• Be a contributing member of the team that define the technical approach, system and software architecture, and API design of next generation centralized storage
• Learn and deeply understand the range of internal platforms
• Create a technical approach and a design for new features that span the organization
• Drive new capabilities and requirements in our platforms to support new product features
• Take part in an on-call rotation (one sprint on, multiple sprint off)

Responsibilities will include:

• Design and development of custom software solutions that centralize common functionality
• Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications
• Develop automation tools and services to minimize delivery time and increase developer productivity.
• Take part in partner interactions, DevOps and deployment activities
• Integration with Multiple Cloud Services like AWS or Azure or GCP
• On-call work/support is required for services developed by the team

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field with 5+ years of equivalent experience

Strong experience and understanding of C# and .NET Core

Good understanding of Python/Go

Good understanding of Kubernetes/Docker/ CICD,

Good understanding of AWS/Azure/GCP.

Strong level of curiosity and interest to learn

Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving, growing, and agile environment

Strong troubleshooting, debugging skills. Good performance diagnostic skills

Database - PostgreSQL or CosmosDB

US Citizenship required.

The candidate must be in the office once a week at one of the following locations: Allen, TX, Chicago, IL , or Schaumburg, IL.

Our customers require US citizenship and residency for this role.

This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Inc. customers.

Target Base Salary Range: $95,000 - $115,000 USD.
