Job Description

This role involves driving the design and optimization of product architecture using established development protocols and exploring innovative technologies to enhance system durability and performance. The Sr. Systems Architect will develop comprehensive product requirement documentation for new prototypes, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment with user needs and regulatory standards, and lead end-to-end integration, testing, and validation for new products and technologies, particularly MRI-compatible medical devices.
Must Have:
  • Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience with Bachelor's OR Minimum 8 years of experience with Master's in System Architecture, System Design, Hardware Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience overseeing end-to-end development of MRI-compatible medical devices.
  • Ability to define system architecture, lead design strategy, and ensure seamless integration across complex MR environments.
  • Deep MRI knowledge to optimize sensor performance, signal acquisition/processing, and interoperability.
  • Proficiency in designing and validating DSP algorithms for advanced MR challenges.
  • Commitment to championing product safety and regulatory adherence through robust MR shielding, RF heating mitigation, and rigorous design standards.
  • Ability to successfully perform minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements.
  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment.
  • Must reside in or within commuting distance to Orlando, FL.

Job Description

This role drives the design and optimization of product architecture using established development protocols while exploring innovative technologies to enhance system durability and performance. It involves developing comprehensive product requirement documentation for new prototypes and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment with user needs, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.

Your role:

  • Lead system architecture and design for new products and technologies, driving end-to-end integration, testing, and validation to ensure robust performance and compliance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, engineering, and external partners to define requirements, balance trade-offs, and align solutions with user needs and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and optimize product architectures using established protocols while exploring novel technologies to enhance durability, efficiency, and system resilience.
  • Create and maintain product documentation, including comprehensive requirements and risk management plans, ensuring traceability and alignment with industry best practices.
  • Mentor and guide team members, fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across all stages of system development.

You’re the right fit if:

  • Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering or equivalent.
  • Oversee end-to-end development of MRI-compatible medical devices, driving innovation from concept through market launch.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience with Bachelor's OR Minimum 8 years of experience with Master's in areas such as System Architecture, System Design, Hardware Engineering or equivalent.
  • Define system architecture, lead design strategy, and ensure seamless integration across complex MR environments.
  • Apply deep MRI knowledge to optimize sensor performance, signal acquisition/processing, and interoperability; design and validate DSP algorithms for advanced MR challenges.
  • Champion product safety and regulatory adherence through robust MR shielding, RF heating mitigation, and rigorous design standards.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position in Florida is $124,500.00 to $199,000.00

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
