Palo Alto Networks is seeking an experienced Tax Senior Analyst to join their Accounting & Finance team. This role focuses on income tax, requiring strong ASC 740 technical knowledge and practical experience in corporate income tax compliance. Key responsibilities include preparing ASC 740 workpapers, supporting NCTI calculations, maintaining tax provision datasets, and ensuring compliance with U.S. withholding tax regulations. The analyst will also monitor tax legislation, identify risks, and assist with ad-hoc projects, contributing significantly to the company's tax operations.

  • Alteryx experience.
Must Have:
  • Prepare and maintain detailed ASC 740 workpapers, calculations, and supporting documentation.
  • Support NCTI calculations, including ADS depreciation schedules and other relevant adjustments.
  • Maintain the Tax provision datasets on quarterly and annual basis.
  • Support Annual Withholding Tax Return for U.S. Source Income of Foreign Persons (Form 1042) analysis.
  • Monitor tax updates and legislation changes.
  • Identify and mitigate company risks and communicate areas of potential exposure.
  • Minimum 3+ years of related experience.
  • Proficient with OneSource Tax Provision (OTP).
  • Proficient with Corptax compliance software.
  • Must be local to SF Bay area to be onsite.

Your Career

Palo Alto Networks is looking for an experienced income tax professional to join the

team as a Tax Senior Analyst. The ideal candidate will have ASC 740 technical tax

knowledge as well as practical experience in supporting the corporate income tax

compliance processes. This role will report to the Senior Manager Tax, Reporting and

Compliance and is a key contributor to the Company’s tax operations.

Your Impact

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain detailed ASC 740 (Income Tax Accounting) workpapers, calculations, and supporting documentation for quarterly and annual financial reporting.
  • Support NCTI (Net CFC Tested Income) calculations, including the preparation of ADS (Alternative Depreciation System) depreciation schedules and other relevant adjustments.
  • Maintain the Tax provision datasets on quarterly and annual basis.
  • Support Annual Withholding Tax Return for U.S. Source Income of Foreign
  • Persons (Form 1042) analysis to ensure compliance with U.S. withholding tax regulations.
  • Monitor tax updates and legislation changes to support overall tax function
  • Identify and mitigate company risks and communicate areas of potential exposure within the reporting and compliance processes
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • Minimum 3+ years of related experience; previous Big 4 experience a plus
  • Must be self-directed with strong organizational skills, and receptive to working in a dynamic, and fast-paced environment in multiple time zones
  • Analytical mind-set to approaching problems and strong attention to detail
  • The ability to operate independently and represent the tax function in cross-
  • functional settings
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize work, and coordinate with internal
  • and external stakeholders
  • Comfortable working with different IT applications, such as SAP
  • Proficient with OneSource Tax Provision (OTP) required
  • Proficient with Corptax compliance software
  • Alteryx experience a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Must be local to SF Bay area to be onsite.

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $98000 - $156000/YR.
