Job Summary
In this role, you will be the dedicated DevOps engineer responsible for engineering the deployment and integration of technologies from various specialized research teams into our central infrastructure. You will take full technical ownership of the production lifecycle, architecting backend wrappers, mastering containerization strategies, and orchestrating the deployment of these tools at scale. You will combine backend logic with robust infrastructure engineering to ensure that diverse tools function reliably and efficiently within our resources, defining integration standards, building Docker images, managing orchestration, implementing technical solutions, and troubleshooting complex issues.
Must Have
- Define technical standards for exposing research tools.
- Build and maintain Docker images.
- Manage end-to-end orchestration of services into production clusters.
- Work with research engineers, identify dependencies, and refactor applications for cloud-native deployment.
- Debug complex issues from local research environments to production.
- 3-5 years of experience in a DevOps or Automation/Infrastructure Engineering role.
- Python proficiency.
- Deep, proven experience with Docker.
- Proven experience with Jenkins pipelines and writing Groovy scripts.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s).
- Deep understanding of Linux administration.
Good to Have
- Experience with web frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, or Django).
- Knowledge of Windows internals.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/AZURE).

You will combine backend logic with robust infrastructure engineering to ensure that the diverse tools built by our research and collaborating teams function reliably and efficiently within our resources.
Your Impact
- Integration Strategy & Standards: Define the technical standards for exposing research tools by translating customer needs into clear specifications, ensuring that tool interfaces meet both operational requirements and infrastructure best practices.
- Containerization: Build and maintain Docker images for a wide variety of tools, ensuring they are deployable and efficient.
- Deployment & Orchestration: Manage the end-to-end orchestration of services into our production clusters, utilizing modern deployment methodologies to ensure high availability and scalability.
- Technical Implementation: Work directly with research engineers, identify dependencies, and refactor applications for cloud-native deployment.
- Troubleshooting: Debug complex issues that arise when migrating code from local research environments to production infrastructure.
Qualifications
Your Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in a DevOps or Automation/Infrastructure Engineering role.
- Python Proficiency: Ability to write clean code. Experience with web frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, or Django) is an advantage.
- Containerization: Deep, proven experience with Docker, including multi-stage builds, image optimization, and understanding container runtimes.
- CI/CD & Automation: Proven experience with Jenkins pipelines and writing Groovy scripts for automation.
- Orchestration: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s) and managing cluster resources.
- OS Fundamentals: Deep understanding of Linux administration. Knowledge of Windows internals is a significant advantage.
- Cloud & CI/CD: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/AZURE) is an advantage.
