The Staff Regional Segment Marketing Manager will develop market opportunities in oncology for Illumina in the assigned region. This involves assessing market dynamics, understanding customer needs, and building relationships with key stakeholders to implement go-to-market strategies. The role also requires collaborating with cross-functional teams to create compelling messaging, generate demand, and empower the sales team with guidance, tools, and training for Illumina products.
Must have:
  • Primary region point of contact for utilization of Illumina technologies in oncology.
  • Solicit and consolidate inputs from customers and field staff for market analysis.
  • Provide information and guidance to revenue planning and marketing planning.
  • Coordinate the planning and execution of segment product launches.
  • Coordinate marketing communications and promotional activities.
  • Execute or coordinate local events such as major conferences and tradeshows.
  • Work together with sales team to achieve sales target.
  • Assist field sales in providing guidance for positioning and identifying target customers.
  • Deliver effective training and sales enablement tools.
  • Ensure technical competence of segment managers and marketing deliverable is maintained.
  • Define and manage segment budgets and priorities.
  • Experience and understanding of genetics technologies and how they can utilize in oncology.
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing, sales and/or technology in life sciences.
  • Ability to evaluate new market opportunities.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to persuade.
  • Fluent in English and Chinese (verbal and written).

  • University/College Degree or equivalent in a scientific discipline
  • Master or PhD degree

Position Summary:

The Staff Regional Segment Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing market opportunities in assigned area. The main tasks include assessment of the market dynamics, understanding customer requirements, and establishing relationships with stakeholders (KOLs, research institutions, government bodies, and internal Illumina resources) in order to establish and implement a go-to-market strategy for the region. Also, the role involves working with the cross-function teams to establish compelling messaging and positioning for Illumina products, create awareness, generate demand, and enable the sale team through guidance, tools and training.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Primary region point of contact for utilization of Illumina technologies in oncology, facilitating inbound and outbound communication, and ensuring alignment with internal stakeholders
  • Solicit and consolidate inputs from customers and field staff within the region to provide in-depth market analysis and insight to Illumina regarding customer and market issues
  • Provide information and guidance to the revenue planning, marketing planning, etc.
  • Coordinate the planning and execution of segment product launches within the region
  • Coordinate the planning and execution of other marketing communications and promotional activities including online and offline advertising, publications, webinars and collateral, product bundles, cross promotions, and trade-ins, both directly and through sales channels
  • Execute or coordinate local events such as major conferences and tradeshows, seminars, user meetings and product launch events
  • Work together with sales team to achieve sales target
  • Assist field sales in providing guidance for positioning and identifying target customers
  • Deliver effective training and sales enablement tools to help our TAMs/SCP be more efficient and effective
  • Ensure technical competence of segment managers and marketing deliverable is maintained at a high standard
  • Define and manage segment budgets and priorities for all the above activities

Position Requirements:

  • Experience and understanding of genetics technologies and how they can utilize in the oncology
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing, sales and/or technology in life sciences, or related industries required
  • The ability to evaluate new market opportunities
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to persuade
  • Fluent in English and Chinese (verbal and written)
