As a Staff Sales Engineer, you will be a trusted advisor and technical leader, driving successful customer outcomes and elevating the sales engineering organization. You will influence deal strategy, shape product direction, and mentor peers, working closely with Sales, Product, Client Experience, and Executive leadership to position Lytx solutions strategically across all segments.
Must have:
  • 8+ years in a pre-sales, solutions engineering, or technical consulting role.
  • Proven success leading enterprise-scale SaaS or telematics/IoT solutions.
  • Deep understanding of cloud-based platforms, APIs, integrations, and security frameworks.
  • Ability to translate complex technology into business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority, mentor peers, and contribute to organizational strategy.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills.
  • Comfortable engaging with C-level stakeholders and large audiences.
  • Passion for discovery, problem-solving, and shaping the future of fleet technology.

As a Staff Sales Engineer, you are a trusted advisor and technical leader who not only drives successful customer outcomes but also elevates the entire sales engineering organization. You will influence deal strategy, shape product direction through field insights, and mentor peers to ensure we deliver scalable, repeatable, and outcome-driven solutions.

You’ll work in close partnership with Sales, Product, Client Experience, and Executive leadership, ensuring Lytx solutions are positioned to win technically, competitively, and strategically across all segments.

You’ll Get To:

Strategic Deal Leadership

  • Serve as the technical lead on Lytx’s most complex and high-value opportunities, setting strategy across discovery, architecture, proof of concept, and executive validation.
  • Navigate complex customer environments (technical, business, regulatory) and orchestrate cross-functional resources to remove barriers and drive alignment.

Thought Leadership & Influence

  • Develop scalable frameworks, demo strategies, and technical win playbooks that are adopted across the SE team.
  • Act as a voice of the field, providing structured feedback to Product and Engineering to influence roadmap priorities and accelerate innovation.
  • Represent Lytx at industry events, conferences, and executive briefings as a subject matter expert.

Mentorship & Team Development

  • Coach and mentor Sales Engineers, raising the technical and consultative bar across the team.
  • Lead internal enablement sessions, demo dry-runs, and technical win reviews.
  • Help define best practices for technical discovery, ROI storytelling, and competitive positioning.

Operational Excellence

  • Collaborate with Sales leadership on forecast reviews, deal inspection, and win/loss analysis to improve repeatability and efficiency.
  • Partner with Solutions Architects and Product Marketing to refine differentiated technical messaging and solution architectures.
  • Ensure consistent alignment between field execution and corporate strategy.

What You'll Need:

  • Experience: 8+ years in a pre-sales, solutions engineering, or technical consulting role, with proven success leading enterprise-scale SaaS or telematics/IoT solutions. Experience in telematics industry a plus.
  • Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of cloud-based platforms, APIs, integrations, and security frameworks. Ability to translate complex technology into business outcomes.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to influence without authority, mentor peers, and contribute to organizational strategy.
  • Executive Presence: Strong communication and storytelling skills; comfortable engaging with C-level stakeholders and large audiences.
  • Curiosity & Vision: A passion for discovery, problem-solving, and helping shape the future of fleet technology.

Salary is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is also eligible for an incentive compensation plan. The expected hiring salary for this position is:

$141,500.00 - $178,500.00
