Job Description

The Staff Software Engineer within the Interactive Game Development team is a senior-level role responsible for architecting and developing both game clients (frontend) and game math engines (backend), as well as leading technical initiatives that impact the direction and quality of our interactive gaming platform. In addition to hands-on development, the Staff Engineer plays a critical role in technical leadership, driving complex projects, mentoring other engineers, and guiding the team through difficult bugs and architectural decisions. This individual collaborates across teams including game engine developers, client developers, artists, and designers to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, in a scalable way, and with high performance. The ideal candidate is a strong individual contributor with a track record of delivering robust, scalable solutions in fast-paced environments, and who also excels at coaching, code reviews, and setting technical direction.
Must have:
  • Lead design, architecture, and implementation of critical game features and infrastructure.
  • Take ownership of complex technical challenges, including performance bottlenecks and architecture-level bugs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engine, client, art, and design teams.
  • Mentor and support other engineers through code reviews, architectural guidance, and knowledge sharing.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality, reusable, and scalable codebases for game clients and backend engines.
  • Identify and advocate for best practices in software engineering, tooling, and workflow automation.
  • Help define and uphold technical standards across the team.
  • Contribute to maintaining and enhancing social casino apps on iOS and Android.
  • Investigate and resolve difficult bugs and production issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, planning, and roadmap discussions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years software development experience.
  • Proficiency in C# and TypeScript/JavaScript.
  • Experience with casino game development.
  • Deep knowledge of object-oriented design, system architecture, and design patterns.
  • Proven experience in leading technical projects or initiatives.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., GitHub, Bitbucket).
Good to have:
  • Node.js
  • PixiJS
  • .NET Core / .NET Framework
  • Experience with online casino game development
  • Building and scaling web-based architecture
  • Scrum or Agile project methodologies
  • Linux command-line tools and deployment workflows
  • Experience in casino gaming or other regulated, high-performance systems
  • CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins)
  • Jira or other task management tools
  • Mobile development on Android and/or iOS platforms
