The Staff Software Engineer will be part of the GigaSMART team, architecting, designing, and implementing visibility and security solutions for Service Providers using EPC and 5GC technologies. Responsibilities include contributing to product specifications, software architecture, and design, as well as working in a fast-paced environment. This role involves developing innovative 5G cloud solutions, analyzing system requirements for creating technical specifications, efficiently handling defects, leading scrum teams, and mentoring junior team members. The ideal candidate should have an engineering degree with at least 6 years of software development experience, proficiency in C and C++, experience with multithreading and networking protocols, and experience with cloud-based solutions. The role also demands strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Good To Have:
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions like ESXi or Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of 5G architecture is beneficial.
Must Have:
  • Develop 5G cloud solutions aligned with specified requirements.
  • Analyze system requirements and create technical specifications.

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer for our GigaSMART team. The candidate will be working as part of a dynamic team and be responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing visibility and security solutions for Service Providers using EPC and 5GC technologies. The candidate will work with cross-functional groups to contribute to product specifications, software architecture, and design. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a very fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do:   

  • Develop innovative 5G cloud solutions that align with specified requirements, ensuring they are compatible with various cloud environments 
  • Thoroughly analyze system requirements to create precise technical specifications, facilitating the development of robust solutions 
  • Efficiently handle defects identified by customers or internal teams, providing optimal solutions to maintain system integrity and performance 
  • Lead scrum teams effectively, ensuring high-quality feature development and optimal system performance through collaborative efforts 
  • Guide and mentor junior team members, fostering their growth in technical skills and understanding of development processes 
  • Perform regular code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge among team members 

What You’ve Done:   

  • Engineering degree (B.E/B.Tech)  or master’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience in software development, particularly in networking software 
  • Proficiency in C and C++ programming languages, with a strong understanding of software development principles 
  • Hands-on experience with multithreading and multiprocessing architectures; familiarity with Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK) is a plus 
  • Experience with networking protocols across various layers, including L2, L3, L4, and L7 
  • Practical experience with cloud-based solutions, such as ESXi or Kubernetes, is an added advantage 
  • Knowledge of 5G architecture is beneficial 
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
