The Strategic Account Executive role extends the Associate Strategic Account Executive role, reporting to an Area Sales Manager or Regional Director. This position supports GitLab’s strategic large prospects and customers, providing account leadership and direction in the pre- and post-sales process. Responsibilities include conducting sales activities, prospecting, developing opportunities in large/strategic accounts, and ensuring successful rollout and adoption of GitLab products through strong account management. The role involves being the voice of the customer, contributing product ideas, generating qualified leads, expanding industry knowledge, preparing reports, and assisting sales management in communicating customer needs. A consultative approach is used to address business issues with prospects and develop quotes, proposals, and presentations tailored to their needs. An account plan is developed to sell to customers based on their business needs, and collaboration with Marketing on marketing strategies is expected.
